I was going to use "junk-in-the-trunk" but Toast works too.
We could also go with "MooCow", "FatAss", "Sluggo" or "PiggyPiggy".

"Anybody know what the slang name for this bird will be? We have the F-14 Tomcat, F-15 Eagle, the F-16 Falcon, F-22 Raptor...and the F-35 JSF. The name has to be cool, ya know?"The F-35 Robertpaulsen. Now that's a cool name.

"F-22 would dominate the F-35 in air to air combat."
I'm actually not so sure about that. The F-22 obviously has a superior performance envelope, but that's not really the main factor (and the F-35 has about the same dash speed).
The main issue is that both planes are stealthy, so neither would have working radar, RGM, or AWACS in a hypothetical F-22 vs. F-35 engagement. That means it's down to the Mark 1 eyeball and IR missiles...it would be either an ambush or a knife fight IF one of the pilots managed to spot the other plane. Night fights are out unless FLIRs can be used to spot the opposing aircraft.
The F-22 would have had a decisive advantage in this kind of engagement, but the IRST (Infra Red Search and Track) was cut from the A version (at least).

The F-35 Puffalump
(Sure, it's doofy, but there's something in that. "My village, it was destroyed by an American Puffalump." Just be glad they didn't send in the Cannibals.)
