LAS VEGAS, February 20, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Jack Carter, 58, the eldest son of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has announced he is seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate to represent Nevada. At his launch, Carter spoke with reporters revealing his schizophrenic stand on abortion - a stand similar to that of his father.

Speaking with the Associated Press' Kathleen Hennessey, Carter described his abortion views saying, ""I'm a personal freedoms person. I don't want the government to come in and tell my child or whoever it is that they can't have an abortion. I'm pro-choice as far as a woman choosing, but I'm against abortion."

Stephen F. Hayward, PhD., wrote a 2004 book on Jimmy Carter noting the former President's political exploitation of abortion. In an interview with National Review, Hayward recalled

Is this the son Chip that was so involved in his father's election campaign?

Must have inherited his father's intelligence and his Uncle Billy's desire for the limelight....I thought that what on in Vegas stayed in Veges..

Hint to politicos: We the people have figured this out.

Someone who says "I wouldn't personally do it but support the law that says it's up to you whether you do it.." is Pro Choice.

So, campaign as Pro Choice. You are fooling no one.

Notice in which state he's going to make
his run for the Senate. That alone
speaks volumes. Nevada (Vegas) has more
doctors whose licenses have been
recalled or suspended than any
other locale in the nation! It's
comparable to "joining the Union"
in Chicago...all it takes is the
right amount of $$$ being placed
in the right hands...You're IN!

Wonder how she feels that in todays world a married man must have his wife's permission prior to having a vasectomy.

"There are many conservatives I know who believe abortion in the case of rape or incest is okay."

Ask them what other crime do they believe an innocent victim of the crime should be executed.

FILL IN THE BLANK. How about telling me I have to pay taxes to finance other people's healthcare, welfare, social security......

In 2002, Jim Oberweis, a republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, in Illinois said, "I'm strongly pro-life. I think that abortion is murder. However, I don't think that the government should do anything to restrict abortion rights." I asked a few people, "What's the difference between that and what he would say if he was pro-choice?" We all agreed that there's no difference. He ran in a three-candidate primary, and he was second, with 30%.
This year, Oberweis is running for governor, and he says that he's strongly pro-life. In the primary, I'll vote for St. Sen. Bill Brady. He has a voting history, in the legislature, of voting pro-life.

I love those "What happens in Vegas -stays in Vegas" commercials. I remember when Vegas tried to bring in kids, and they had those big playrooms and rides- and that went out the window when no one brought their kids, because Vegas is a slimey hole with ho's, crack and mafia. So then they just got honest.

I want a commercial with a nerdy guy covered in sweat, in his hotel room saying he just killed a teen transsexual runaway and has the body in his trunk and then in a loud voiceover--
"What happens in Vegas", etc. etc.

Do you believe that women who have abortions should be executed? They're murderers after all, right?

Doublespeak. I like what Badger said: you can't have your child and kill it, too.

I'm pro-life in almost all instances - we can do the death penalty discussion at a later time.

However, please once again tell me what crimes you believe the innocent victim should be executed for. After all, that is exactly what abortion due to rape or incest does.

I wonder if he would have felt the same way about Hitler's pogrom against the Jews. "I don't execute them myself, but it's not my business if others want to."

well that's what scares me- running for the Senate in Nevada- that's not like the mayor of Tombstone- this guy could cause some serious damage through lack of initiative/common sense.

There are many conservatives I know who believe abortion in the case of rape or incest is okay. It is either a person or it isn't. The brain and heart start shortly after month 1, making all normal abortions killing "brain alive" person. In self defense, perhaps, but otherwise???

I've never understood the illogical and spineless rape/incest exception. I might argue with you mightily about the crossing the bar at one month, but once it's a person, it's a person and the mother's choice becomes irrelevant. And unless maybe the bar is at conception, the woman-held-hostage-by-the-parasite (feminists are such perpetual victims) is complete trash because the fetus crossed the bar at the woman's behest (otherwise she would have gotten rid of it immediately upon finding out she was pregnant).
