"GM brings back the GTO as a super generic?"
Yeah, I was in the dealership and asked what gives? They told me that GM said that's what the GTO would have looked like had it been through model changes through the years. How weak. GM's management has the collective IQ of a fence post.
How insulting!........to fence posts.........
(Sadly that may be true the way GM screwed up every muscle car it had... )

The classic GTO was based on the platforms that were in current production at the time. One could buy a Tempest or a LeMans and pretty much make a GTO clone.
What car could you use to make a current GTO clone? A Holden. It is a unique car whether you want to believe it or not. At least far more unique and original than the original.
That said, I don't much care for it.
Yep, they are putting the Northstar in Buicks, so once again I see no reason to replace my Caddy with another one. I stop buying Cadillacs in the 1970's because they were so similar to Ols and Buicks, except for price
Naaa. A dog attractant fire hydrant.
