The wife of a very close friend of mine had an abortion when she was a 19 year old college student 30 years ago.

She prays, and has EVERY SINGLE DAY for the last 20 YEARS, for God's forgiveness for making that decision.

My friend says she has told him that she has never been able to look at their two children, now grown, she later had without wondering what her aborted child would have looked and been like.

She is generally a happy, cheerful, positive person who's a joy to be around. But as my friend says anytime he looks at her and for no apparent reason she appears pensive, sad or depressed he knows exactly what she's thinking about----her baby that never got a chance at life.

Our church offers a bible study for people such as your friend it includes men as well as women....it is done very privately and no one outside that circle know names. At the conclusion they offer a baptism for the unborn....I have heard that it is very healing for the participants....maybe a church in your area offers something similar...>I am glad to see that information is coming out about long term effects on these women....the women in this article has a cold heart

There are many avenues now for women (men) like your friend's wife who are still dealing with the abortion they had years ago.

May I suggest that, given the right time and opportunity, you suggest to the friend or his wife that she contact CareNet or SaveOne or a local crisis pregnancy center. Many organizations offer post-abortion healing programs which include, among other things, the opportunity to forgive oneself. That is the hardest part.

Prayers for her and her family.
