Because this is the day that You have made, may we use it to grow in our love and service to You. Though we sometimes run from You, we pray that You would help us to stop, turn around, and face You, Lord. For where can we go to hide from You? Where can we flee from Your presence? You are far too great for even the entire earth to contain You. If we sleep, You are there; if we awaken, Your presence remains. How grateful we are, Father, that You who fill the entire universe, the heavens, and the depths are greater than any problem we can ever possibly face. And so we praise You for Your goodness, and for Your wonderful works to the children of men. For You satisfy our longing souls, and You fill our hungry souls with goodness.
Father, though the wicked have laid a snare for our President and Vice-President, yet we confess that You are their Defense. You are their Keeper---the Shade upon their right hands. Nothing shall harm them by day or by night for You preserve them from all evil. You preserve their going out and their coming in for evermore. We confess that the words written to discredit them shall fall on deaf ears and that nothing shall keep them from fulfilling the purposes You have for their lives. We are confident that You will accomplish everything that concerns them and that Your mercy shall prevail over them, for You never forsake the works of Your own hands. Bless all the Presidents of this nation who have endured and have served their country with integrity and honor.
We grow weary of the squawking voices of those who choose to call good evil, and evil, good. We pray that the Light of Your Truth would flood over their hearts, driving out the darkness and blindness. Help them, Lord, for like fish out of water, they flounder without You.
May our military men and women speak of Your greatness to a world that is easily offended. May they be strong in You and do the work You have set before them, and may they accomplish their missions with integrity and persistence. Reward them, Lord, for they are willing to risk their own lives for people even of their own nation who denounce and hate them.
Grant us an extra measure of Your grace during these trying times, Father. Help us to speak and move in the Spirit so that we do not fulfill the desires of the flesh. We can do so because we are branches of the Vine, and You supply us with all that we need to bear much fruit. Help us to keep our eyes focused on You rather than upon the stormy seas that surround us. Accept our humble prayers in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Happy President's Day to all. May the Lord richly bless President Bush and all those who work with him protecting our great country. God bless all who pray with us. Thank You, Lord, for answered prayer.
Thank you, Texagirl, for your faithful support of our President and this prayer thread. Blessings to you, friend.
Please pray also for the Vice-President.
We Plead that You will Be Glorified, our Lord, in our Government, our Military, and our Nation. Guard our Brother-President and our Vice President from Traps Laid by Wicked men, Making their Enemies to Bow at their Feet.
Strengthen us All as we Live Out Your Will for us. We Pray for Thy Sovereign Grace, as we Love You, our Jesus, amen.
When there is no peace
I turn to You
You are my reason to hope
When theres no way out
I run to You
Theres nowhere else I can go
You are the River of Life in my heart
I am believing in all that You are
Savior, my Savior
The same hand thats spinning the world
Is stirring my soul
Savior, my Savior
I have no reason to fear
Youre in control
When there is no light
I look to You
You turn the night into day
When there is no prayer
I cry out to You
Youre only a whisper away
You are the River of Life in my heart
I am believing in all that You are
Savior, my Savior
The same hand thats spinning the world
Is stirring my soul
Savior, my Savior
I have no reason to fear
Youre in control
You open my eyes
I see so clearly
I feel Your mercy and grace all around me
Now and forever and ever
I call out Your name
Savior, my Savior
The same hand thats spinning the world
Is stirring my soul
Savior, my Savior
I have no reason to fear
Youre in control

God,
Grant us comfort in this hour. Instill in
us a firm, happy, and grateful faith. Instill
in us a strong heart, and a spirit that overcomes
our trials. Give us a strong mind to understand
Your truth. Give us a strong spirit that receives
Your love.
Help us to fully understand that You have
indeed overcome the world. Give us this hour the
strength and wisdom to see that You have already
won the battle. Give us a strong vision to see that
You have already secured for us a place with You for
all eternity. In all things and in all ways let me
see Your love prevail.
Amen.
Amen.
Lord, it is true that we so easily go astray. It is only Your amazing love that constantly draws us back, even against the wishes of our flesh.
So too, the world is filled with opposition to Your will, especially considering the number of unawakened souls.
May Your love be our comfort, Your joy our strength, and Your hope our anchor, and may this be true as well for all in authority who are of good will. May knowledge of the Lord be spread about, just as waters cover the sea, and may Your triumph be complete.
In Your sovereign protection we rest, in Jesus' name.
Amen, Lord. Keep them as the apple of Your eye; hide them in the shelter of Your wings until these calamities pass. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
Beautiful, Luvya. That really expresses the deepest thoughts of the heart. Thank you.
AMEN FAITH AND GRACE TO ALL SAINTS,
"God, that comforteth those that are cast down."
- 2 Corinthians 7:6
And who comforteth like him? Go to some poor, melancholy, distressed child
of God; tell him sweet promises, and whisper in his ear choice words of
comfort; he is like the deaf adder, he listens not to the voice of the
charmer, charm he never so wisely.
He is drinking gall and wormwood, and comfort him as you may, it will be
only a note or two of mournful resignation that you will get from him; you
will bring forth no psalms of praise, no hallelujahs, no joyful sonnets.
But let God come to his child, let him lift up his countenance, and the
mourner's eyes glisten with hope.
Do you not hear him sing-
"'Tis paradise, if thou art here;
If thou depart, 'tis hell?"
You could not have cheered him: but the Lord has done it; "He is the God
of all comfort." There is no balm in Gilead, but there is balm in God.
There is no physician among the creatures, but the Creator is
Jehovah-rophi. It is marvellous how one sweet word of God will make whole
songs for Christians. One word of God is like a piece of gold, and the
Christian is the gold beater, and can hammer that promise out for whole
weeks. So, then, poor Christian, thou needest not sit down in despair. Go
to the Comforter, and ask him to give thee consolation. Thou art a poor
dry well.
You have heard it said, that when a pump is dry, you must pour water down
it first of all, and then you will get water, and so, Christian, when thou
art dry, go to God, ask him to shed abroad his joy in thy heart, and then
thy joy shall be full.
Do not go to earthly acquaintances, for you will find them Job's
comforters after all; but go first and foremost to thy "God, that
comforteth those that are cast down," and you will soon say, "In the
multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
