Right woman at the right time

Iraqi National Assemblywoman Tanya Gilly-Khailany is witnessing a transformation of her country she has dreamt of all her life: Men and women are working. Boys and girls are going to school. Millions have been immunized against polio and other life-threatening diseases. Construction is on the rise, as are new business startups. And the Iraqi gross domestic product has grown from $18.9 billion in 2002 to $33.1 billion in 2005. More importantly, fear throughout the country is dissipating.

Since her comments do not "advance the story line", ie a daily body count, how Iraqis hate us, etc, this piece will get less exposure than algore's seditious comments in Saudi Arabia.

Her bio lists her as Tanya Gilly which sounds very American. It also fails to mention anything about her Kurdish background but does speak of her work with Iraq after Saddam's fall. Courious just who she really is.

He!!, we're pumping more per month into that he!! hole than their total annual GDP. At that rate they'll never be either self sufficient or able to repay us for our costs in terms of money and never in terms of our dead and permanently disabled.

So, now we have a whole frickin country on our welfare rolls.
