New questions on Saddam, WMD
Published February 20, 2006
More information has surfaced in recent days about Saddam Hussein and his weapons of mass destruction programs, and the possible roles of Syria and Russia in spiriting WMD and massive arsenals of conventional munitions out of Iraq prior to the start of the war three years ago.
The new information includes audio recordings of 12 hours of conversations from the early 1990s through 2000 involving Saddam Hussein and his top aides, in which Saddam discusses how to conceal Iraqi weapons programs from U.N. inspectors and the possibility that the United States could be the target of terrorist attacks. The recordings were provided by Bill Tierney, an Arabic speaker, who worked during the mid-1990s for the United Nations Special Commission that was responsible for overseeing Iraq's disarmament.
One new piece of information revealed on the tapes, released Saturday by Mr. Tierney at the Intelligence Summit, a private conference held in Arlington, is that Saddam was actively working on a plan to enrich uranium using a technique known as plasma separation. This is particularly worrisome because of the date of the conversation: It took place in 2000, nearly five years after Iraq's nuclear programs were thought to have stopped.
Perhaps most disturbing of all, according to Mr. Tierney, was the fact that the Iraqi scientists briefing Saddam about the uranium enrichment plan in 2000 "were totally unknown" to U.N. weapons inspectors. The plasma program also appears to have escaped the attention of the Iraq Survey Group, which reported two years ago that it had ended back in the late 1980s.
Mr. Tierney points out that the 12 hours of information that he has translated thus far is just a small fraction of the hundreds of hours of tape recordings and....

Loftus says Saddam discussed with aides whether to use nuclear or germ weapon for a sneak attack on US.
If a RAT wins in 08 then it will surface. And the RATS will all say, "See we told you so" and that is how the media will spin it.
Then if we do get hit with a WMD in 2009, the RATS will say, "see, we told you Iraq had weapons. We knew it and wanted then kept in Iraq so we could monitor it. The fact that Bush attacked Iraq, the weapons were taken and moved to Syria."
And that is how the media will spin it.
"IMHO that agreement was signed with the blood of those we lost in that Operation and their sacrifice must be honored by removing him from power and facing whatever justice the people of Iraq decide is proper."
Notice how the MSM never mention the bill Clinton signed authorizing that Saddam be removed from power?
>>Washington Times are conservative hacks
You'd think this stuff would be plastered on front pages.....but they'd rather republish the Danish cartoons than this. Nobody in MSM wants the rage of the left wing naysayers. The facts need to be checked and rechecked (unless your name is Michael Moore) if the story doesn't fit the lib's dream world.
bump for later
Considering that funds from the Oil-for-Food program were being administered through French banks, I'd say that's already been proven.
I'll be sure to watch it or tape it tonight.
The question that no one seems to ask is a simple one:
How did the MSM and the rat politicians know there were no WMDs in Iraq before our invasion of Iraq was over?
(This is made even more interesting with all of the documented comments made by the Clintoons and fellow rats about Saddam and his WMDs from 1993 until GW was sworn in.)
The lefties won't beleive this. I am reading their sites.
They say big deal its
'just the rantings of a madman trying to pump up his followers".
That has been their typical response for about 6-7 years whenever a conservative documents anything.
Of course their rabid wet dreams posing as news need no documentation. The liberals still believe that Mary Mapes and Danny Blather were fired for tell their version of the truth, which was a total pack of lies.
The good news is their insane rants and phoney news are costing them viewers on tv and subscribers for their fish wraps.
"A lie can run half way around the world,
While the truth is still getting it's boots on".
To me what's interesting is the way the 'rats and media have tryed to isolate WMD as the only reason for invading Iraq.
They've fooled a whole lot of folks with that trick.
President Bush only emphasized that reason at the UN. He gave many other reasons in his STU speech back in '02(or was it '03).
I honestly did not look that up. Will Rogers ... right?
I like my version a little better, and I think mine sounds more like Will Rogers, especially the boots part. :)
Excellent editorial.
This is at least 3 sources now saying the WMDs were mvoed to Syria by the Russians (after Gertz and Gen. Sada), and the tapes certainly seem to support it. Do you think the MSM will ever acknowledgeit?
