Thanks.

LOL! I didn't know Bob Herbert was that stupid... but liberals are running out of ammo. Everything they've tried has flopped. Pathetic doesn't begin to describe how sad they truly feel. They have no life but to hound Cheney. Well, it only describes the state of their complete irrelevance.

Bill Crystal was on Fox tonight and quoted some polls. This is not hurting Bush. It is solidifying the base somewhat.

Well, Noonan's an idiot. Pure and simple.
Cheney's the administration's hate magnet? So? SOMEBODY is going to be the hate magnet. It might as well be someone who's up to the task and can handle himself with style and gravitas.
Carter had the rabbit. Ford had the stumble. And Quayle had his potato. None of them quit. All of them left office at the end of their terms. And guess what, it STILL didn't go away. So why quit over the Elmer Fudd thing. It won't stop it.
So unless you're one of the ones that think Bush needs a little more heat on him directly to get things done, let's let it all go to Cheney. 'Cause that hate is going to go somewhere.

In a month no one will recall this Yeah, just like nobody remembers Aaron Burr. The fact is, when ANY famous figure shoots somebody, it's newsworthy. We still remember Claudine Longet, for heavens' sake. That said, I don't think this will have any long-term negative consequences for Cheney, but to pretend it's not newsworthy is just sticking your head in the sand.

Heheh... maybe I'm showing my age.
She was the ex-wife of Andy Williams who shot her boyfriend, a famous skier named Spider Sabich back in the 70s.

(Someone posted a cartoon of a republican elephant in bed with a woman labelled FOX and in the next bed, a republican donkey is in the sack with CBS, CNN, ABC, NBC, NYT, etc, all of whom are shouting "Slut!" at FOX. Sums it up perfectly.) I missed that picture, I bet it was a doozy.

Bender, you have absolutely made my day with your Cheney headlines in the New York Slimes. Great work!
To: Bubbatuck
Claudine didn't hit him with birdshot, though. Poor 'ol Spider ended up DEAD!
BTW - some younger Freepers might now ask, "Who's Andy Williams?" ;-)

The Fox News Channel is eating this up. Their viewership keeps going up exponentially as the MSM keeps its one-sided news coverage and made up stories.
