Ummmm... probably because she is a noted authority on cuisine and food in general, she's a successful author, she's very bright and erudite and she doesn't put up with the sickening Francophilic ostentation that's thrust in our faces at so many restaurants. Oh, and she seems to have a really great sense of humor as well.
