I'm just amused that she can call for an end to pompous and ostentatious language when her husband refers to himself as "Lord Godfrey Macdonald of Macdonald, the high chief of the Clan Donald"!
Is he a Lord? Is there a Clan Donald? Is he the high chief of this clan? If it's completely descriptive language, it's neither pomp nor ostentation.

Using 'nouvelle cuisine' terms, how would these clowns describe a "balut" on their menus?

Old George is a Texan and I'll bet had had a Whataburger or two. ;)I have no doubt and it only provides more of a reason for me to move to the great state of Texas one day "sigh"
Whenever there's something pertaining to Texas mentioned here at FR, it always seems to be about something REALLY GOOD going on there. Everyone that I've met offline as well as online who is a Texan has always been a VERY nice and congenial person....so much nicer than what I've become accustomed to here in the People's Republic of Washington "sigh"

You haven't enough sauce to put on the prongs of a fork. It looks jolly pretty but you haven't got enough to taste. It is done more for the eye than the mouth. Food should look nice, but not at the expense of being able to get a really good forkful. It's infectious and it should be vaccinated against.Love this woman.
Yes, she seems absolutely delightful and I would love to stay at her hotel one day.

Good grief are they in the middle of a famine that they have to resort to eating what wasn't meant to be eaten.YUK!
There are 4 food groups, chicken, beef, pork and fish. The rest are just for emergencies like when the world has run out of food.

Using fancy words, lets them charge you an arm and a leg for the experience.Agreed.....from the article:
"Sadly, Jean-Christophe will have influenced other chefs with his menu harking back to nouvelle cuisine and style over substance. Michelin-star hotels are notorious for making things over-flowery. They believe description means they can add another ten quid to the dish. "

Your post seems to be additional reinforcement to the old adage: " No matter how pretty she is, there's always going to be some poor guy out there who is fed up with her B.S." :-)Well, she wasn't all that pretty. And if I want to be abused or insulted, I could just log on to DU!

"...the finest baby frogs, dew-picked and flown from Iraq, cleansed in the finest quality spring water, lightly killed, and sealed in a succulent, Swiss, quintuple-smooth, treble-milk chocolate envelope, and lovingly frosted with glucose..."ROTFLMAO!! The places that embellish their menu descriptions in such a ludicrous way will never get a dime from THIS stoat :-)
