If you desire to know Hillary's level of discourse, ask her the name of Chester A. Arthur's Vice President. She will probably say, "Who was Chester A. Arthur?" but that's just her ignoramus side toying with the ideological.
In any case, MzBill's doting hubby has already been pegged as combining the decisiveness of James Buchanan with the bold initiatives of Benjamin Harrison. We have had good Presidents, bad Presidents (Fillmore, Pierce, Harding, and Hoover, to name the ones commonly associated with Buchanan and the second Harrison), but William Jefferson Clinton was our first PERSONALLY CORRUPT Chief Executive... selling nuclear-engineering specifications from Livermore Labs to the Chinese Communists for campaign contributions (through Charlie Trie) was but the tip of his Ron Brown iceberg.
Hillary should get a grip. The reason she will pull a Mondale-Ferraro/Vaccaro if she's nominated, but in fact will never survive the early primaries, is that for corruption and incompetence (think Hillary Care) nothing beats an arrogant little phony like herself.
Question: Who would the Wife of Bill (aka the WOB) take on as running mate? No, no, there's a problem here. Guaranteed it wouldn't be a black female, or even female. So what craven wuss, what decayed metrosexual castrato, could she find to spread her gospel of far-left hatred and deceit-- Al Franken? In all honesty, when it comes to survival even politicians retain grains of sense. Any alliance with the WOB will permanently derail the gravy train.
How about a WOB - Sharpton ticket, urging a $10-trillion "freedom budget" payable to Louis Farrakhan on demand? Any less of a giveaway, she won't even get a hearing for smirking "plantation" remarks to her churchgoing devotees. Hey, if not Fat Al, how's about some Hollywood type she could tout as "Reaganesque"? Howard Dean might well say, "What a tremendous coup!" From his cell in Leavenworth, Pinch Sulzberger would certainly add, "yes, yes-- I NEED that pardon."
We almost fear MzBill will cop out and NOT run. That leaves the Defecrats holding open bags of camel feces for their next Save-Us-from-Ourselves gramophone-record of vile obscenities.
PS: Chester A. Arthur did not have a Vice President. He succeeded James Garfield, who was assassinated, and the Constitution had not yet been amended to allow an appointee. (That came only after Kennedy. The result was Jerry Ford, named by Nixon on promise of a Presidential Pardon after Watergate-- a routine transgression in the Clinton years, per MzBill's stash of FBI files discovered literally "under her bed" pending delivery to Larry Flynt for blackmail purposes.)
Yep. And that is why she won't announce for President. That way she can use her Senate run AND her Presidential run. That way she can squeeze the people for money for the Senate and then hit them up again for the President run.
There were some people who alleged that Arthur was actually born in Canada (officially his birthplace is in northern Vermont) and that he was not eligible to be President or Vice President, but that was never proven. His father was an immigrant, having been born in Northern Ireland and later having lived in Canada, but his mother was a native of Vermont.
Of course there is also the precedent of Bill Clinton promising the people of Arkansas that he would serve out a full term if they re-elected him governor in 1990, but then ignoring that promise when he ran for President...and he still carried the state both in 1992 and in 1996. In fact in 1992 it may have been the only state, or at least was one of very few states, where Clinton got 50% or more of the popular vote.
News flash! She's been running since 1992.
