'Hannitized'

By Bill Steigerwald TRIBUNE-REVIEW Saturday, February 18, 2006

Q: Have we seen the end of the Dick Cheney shooting-spree story?

A: No. I don't think so, only because it's got to make it through the Sunday news cycle. I think after that it'll probably go away. From all that we've seen, it just seems like a terrible accident ... . I thought he came across as very sincere in Brit Hume's interview.

Yes I know he works hard for us, I just don't like the sanctimonious tone of his, and there is that tone whether you feel it or not. I know dozens of conservatives who can't take his overly righteous tone, just think how it sounds to the other side. That tone of his serves to energize the opponent.

But I appreciate his work.

As one FReeper once said of him:

"Sean is sincere, good-hearted and well-intentioned; and he is enthusiastic - to say the least - about what he believes. He does have a message to communicate and he does not over-intellectualize; so his message is on-target for many who are in the throws of Liberal-induced pain and do not know the antidote; and they don't have time for a philosophy lesson to figure it out."

I just know he'd be even more influential with the folks we need if he cut out the righteous stance.

What Rush, Laura Ingraham, certainly Mark Levin and even Savage have are pretty well-developed senses of humor. Listening to their shows, you chuckle as much as you ponder. I like Hannity, but he needs to stop taking himself so seriously.

This hunting accident has gotten far more press than it could possibly deserve.

The left can't get over it.

You are kidding...right?

If you don't believe that we are all in this together..let me know what you think when a suicide bomber interrupts your shopping at your local mall.

I agree, but if the left would let it go, do you really think you would hear so much as a peep about it from the right?

I ignored it all. I didn't look at any news on the subject, watch any "comedy" shows ( I rarely do because it's so freakin' left) i saw the senator get out of the hospital yesterday and say "accidents happen". That's about all there is too it anyway.

Meanwhile Muslims burn cars in Paris, kill Christians in Algeria Nigeria, riot in Pakistan, Issue death contracts on people, and start protesting in American Cities, and chant "death to America" We didn't even draw the cartoons, but what the heck, it's worth a few "death to America's anyways.

And we keep giving them foriegn aid.

If the right finally tired of talking about it 24/7/365 then the left eventually would also. I'm willing to give it a shot.

shooting-spree

You mean the one in which the vice president climbed a tower with a high-powered rifle and proceeded to shoot dozens of innocent civilians? Or the one where the vice president, disguised as a Cuban terroristo blasted his way through the food court of a suburban shopping mall with automatic weapons? Or the one where he drove an explosives-laded van into a school for the blind right at Playground Hour?

There are so many to choose from ...

Sadly, the same source of courage sometimes interferes with precision (link is nogood).

But I like your spirit! ;)

Well, none of us are perfect.

Sean is great for the young ones coming across his show.

I get tired of the repetition, and the fact that I know exactly what he will say about anything (probably because it is exactly the same thing I think.)

I really, really get tired of the parade of liberals using his mass audience to hear their ridiculous, hate-filled lambasts.

But - with that much air time - it has to be filled.

Now Rush is pure teacher, entertainer and comforter and man of wisdom as to how critical a current happening is.

This whole flack is merely because Cheney went around the White House press and gave the report to a local news source.

Yet, the press might just someday learn that when you use the President and his administration as punching bags daily, do not expect for them to give you juicy stories.

If he had gone to the White House press, they would then have been able to censor the news for the dumb public and tell us how bad we should think Cheney is (as they are so elite you know).

It is time to show the MSM that THEY DO NOT CONTROL THE NEWS ANYMORE. So, let them throw tantrums like the petty, full-of-themselves idiots they are.

I just don't care. They won't change my view of a good man like Cheney no matter how they rant and rave.
