what's the difference, a UAE controlled company will OPERATE these ports. who cares if they own the docks and the terminals, they will control the use of them. they can filter their own operatives into managment ranks, people who make decisions on what moves through the ports, who docks, etc. that's the problem.

Exactly. As Schumer said, the minute this would start up, terrorists would try to infiltrate.

Security will not be tight enough over there to stop that.

It leaves us wide open.

Schumer said: "I will keep fighting on this until they undo it."

Practically speaking you're right.

Politically speaking, I can just hear the demo's response the next time the GOP tries to convince voters they're serious about the war on terror - so concerned they turned over the control of the 6 largest ports in the US the UAE underwritten by our great good friends the Saudis.
