A couple of years ago this article would have produced a barraged of prepackaged vilification from certain posters who are well known here along with demands the posters privileges be suspended and the article pulled. Of late those who once denounced concern with the illegal invasion have become circumspect in calling those who find the prospect of the mexicanization and third worldization of the US to be repugnant racist. Perhaps, rather late in the day, the reality of the problem is becoming so obvious that semantics can no longer be used as a masking technique.

It can't be racist if it's the Mexicans who may be the racist? I worked with a black woman who really was a racist, but she couldn't accept that she was, because (of course, silly me) she was black.

The faulty logic that this author, and many others, use, is that Mexico, Columbia, and other drug producing nations force the citizens of the US to use drugs. Likewise, that Mexico, Latin America, and other nations of the world force the US to allow their illegals into the country to work.

The reality is that, to a leeser degree, drugs, and to a larger degree, illegals, have a defacto legal stutus in the US. Additionally, to a degree, drugs and illegals are culturally accepted in US society.

Not just that, but it takes a good argument to penetrate through.

The author points out that the illegal immigration is not simply one of job seeking, but a nationalist movement, something perhaps your above mentioned conservatives didn't put much stock in.

With both gangsters and the Mexican military backing illegals across the border, it's more truely apparent that this is an assault on sovereignty.
