... if you support this war and President Bush, march to your recruiter's office and sign up."
And if you oppose it, strap on a dynamite vest and blow yourself up.

The speech became an anti-war rally,
Which it was meant to be from the beginning!

She said, "Let's talk about supporting the troops," and went on to list the problems such as poor quality body armor and having soldiers eating rotten food. "Let's talk about cutting VA benefits for when they come home. Let's talk about kids committing suicide because they're not being treated for post-traumatic stress."Of course she didn't talk about any of these topics, she just made wild accusations.
She went on to say: "If you care about the troops, do more than carry a sign or put up a bumper sticker . . . if you support this war and President Bush, march to your recruiter's office and sign up."
Which is exactly what her son did... twice.

"Those figures include mandatory spending for such things as payments to veterans for service-connected disabilities, over which Congress and presidents have little control. But Bush has increased the discretionary portion of veterans funding even more than the mandatory portion has increased. Discretionary funding under Bush is up 30.2%.
By any measure, veterans funding is going up faster under Bush than under Clinton."
Not this lie again.

She talked about how her son shared a birthday with John F. Kennedy and died in Iraq on April 4, 2004, the same date Martin Luther King was killed. Code word: "19".

Reprise: Go rest, now Mother Sheehan (To The Tune of "God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen")
Go rest, now, Mother Sheehan, your welcomes overstayed.
Im sick of your behavior with each passing day;
Youre in the Lefts power now, and youve been led astray.
Refrain
O providing comfort and aid, comfort and aid;
O providing comfort and aid.
In Crawford, down in Texas, you really blew your horn.
Your face was on my TV set each and evry blessed morn;
I tell you, Mother Sheehan, you look a little worn.
Refrain
From near and far and everywhere the media it came;
Bringing certain interest groups coincident with fame;
And that big behemoth, too, Michael Moores his name.
Refrain
All right then, to the far left, you are a beacon light
But, oh, my dear, I sadly fear that you are none too bright.
Now see here, to our enemies, youre giving succor and delight.
Refrain
Perhaps your grief, that awful thief, rendered you quite blind.
The left now flocks a-feeding with others of their kind,
To hear you daily trash our troops whom you have maligned.
Refrain
Go rest, now, Mother Sheehan, your familys so dismayed.
I am so sorry that your son, too young, to rest was laid.
Go home now, dear, and stop this media masquerade.
