"It's not impossible to imagine one could develop an internal conspiracy, but I'd have to assign it a very low probability."

This guy's probably right. Think about it - if an attack were to happen, the UAE would know we'd blame them first. They'd be on the top of our hitlist, like the Taliban was. Heck, they'd have a vested interest in providing extra-strong security so there are no "misunderstandings".

Now you think about it. They'd be "on the top of our hitlist" because they are Arab muslims who support the Taliban as rightful rulers of Afghanistan. This being the case, WTF are we doing even considering letting these people run our port security?

We are in a war against muslim terrorists and those who support terrorists, so we are hiring muslims who support terrorists for our port security? Has this whole country gone insane? There is no excuse, no apology for this madness. What is Bush thinking?

Are you serious? We might never know that weapons came through one of these ports even after we are attacked. Once 5 nukes come in through Baltimore Harbor and get dispersed to NYC, Chicago, LA, Boston, and D.C. it probably won't matter much who did what. My support for this administration is dwindling. I really see no point in fighting wars overseas if we are going to have Dubai running our port security on the east coast, all the while our borders are wide open. I've supported this President as much as possible and still do, but if this deal goes through that support will be all but gone other than my inherit respect for the office itself.

Yeah...

We seem to think that we can 'buy the peace' by trading freely with our enemies. Mistake. Appeasement is appeasement.

Hell, while we're at it, why don't we all just convert to Islam, make Spanish our national language, and submit all our communications to a Chinese censorship tribunal? Nobody'd want to attack us then, right? Right?

A: Because this country would no longer be worth defending.

I don't mind people defending Bush as a man, but it really is time to quit defending some of his policy mistakes.

Yeah that's right. We would most certainly hold Senate Investigations afterwards. That would be likely to make them think twice wouldn't it?
