ATLANTA25 US Representativesincluding two members of the Georgia delegationhave now signed on as co-sponsors of H. Res 635, demanding a probe which could recommend Bushs impeachment, including the initial sponsor, US Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), Atlanta Progressive News has learned.
If the Democratic Party is able to retake the US House of Representatives, Rep. Conyers would become Chairman Conyers of the House Judiciary Committee, whereas he is currently minority leader on the Committee.
If not acted on this session, the bill would have to be reintroduced next session. It is possible that a new bill could include new language regarding NSA domestic wiretapping.
Sources in Washington DC tell Atlanta Progressive News that H. Res 635 is a venue for coalition among members of Congress who are willing to consider impeachment for a variety of reasons.
Even though H. Res 635 does not specifically reference the NSA domestic wiretapping issue, some Members of US Congress have found the wiretapping issue to be a compelling reason to sign on as a co-sponsor, sources say.
26 US Representatives now total want Bush either to face an impeachment probe or to resign. US Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) is the representative who has called for Bushs resignation, according to a World Cant Wait statement issued to Atlanta Progressive News.
Two (2) Members of US Congress signed on yesterday, February 14, 2006, including US Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI) and US Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), according to thomas.loc.gov. Since APNs last story on H. Res 635, US Rep. Mike Honda (D-CA), also signed on, having done so on February 8, 2006. Press representatives for Reps. Moore, Velazquez, and Honda were not immediately available for comment.

Yeah, and 200 reps want 26 reps to resign.
Today's Democratic party.
One Stalinist accusation after another, until one sticks.
What the Dems don't seem to realize, now that their party has been hijacked by Marxists (think talk radio and bloggers here), is that if they ever regain power, they will be eventually begin investigating many of their own members who either don't tow the party line, or who might try to gain too much personal authority.
.
Compare with the list of Kucinich's antiwar coalition formed in September 2002 after the return of Nick Rahall and James Abourezk's delegation to Baghdad and just before McDermott's trip there:
Washington, Sep 19, 2002 - Nineteen Members of Congress, led by Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH), today announced the formation of a coalition to oppose war in Iraq.
SNIP
Kucinich was joined today by; Reps. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Danny Davis (D-IL), Peter DeFazio (D-OR), Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Sam Farr (D-CA), Bob Filner (D-CA), Barney Frank (D-MA), Jackson-Lee (D-TX), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-MI), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Jim McDermott (D-WA), Major Owens (D-NY), Lynn Rivers (D-MI), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Diane Watson (D-CA), and Lynn Woolsey (D-CA).
what do you call 25 LW moonbat US representatives at the bottom of the ocean?
All of them are a waste of resources and useless eaters.
25, huh? How many are in the CBC? Better yet, how many are not?
Oh, they plan to impeach Cheney on charges of shooting his best friend. Or not calling reporters first, I forget which.
If I remember my succession chart correctly, they have to impeach President Hastert then.
It's too late at night to worry about who will be the President good ol' John Conyers plans to impeach after Hastert.
Meanwhile, US Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA), a moderate Republican chairing the wiretapping hearings in the Senate, told George Stephanopoulos during a television program, impeachment would be the standard remedy, at least in theory, if Bush has broken the law.
"Well, the remedy could be a variety of things. A president and Im not suggesting remotely that theres any basis, but youre asking, really, theory, whats the remedy? Impeachment is a remedy. After impeachment, you could have a criminal prosecution, but the principal remedy, George, under our society is to pay a political price," Senator Specter said on January 15, 2006.
Et tu, Brutei? Arlen seems far too willing to give ground on these issues than I'm comfortable with.
Conyers as Chairman of the Judiciary and Rangel as head of Ways & Means is a NIGHTMARE scenario.
Conyers represents the most hopelessly stupid people in America. When they were created and God said: "Step in front for the brains," they thought He said: "Step in front of the train."
If anyone on here is thinking of voting for a Dem because they think the Republican is too moderate, they had better think twice because they could give us Conyers as head of Judiciary. Voting for a Dem could have bad consequences even if the Dem is conservative.
My advise to all is to vote Republican to keep Conyers from being head of Judiciary even if you have to hold your nose to vote for a moderate Republican in your State.
Just ask yourself why anyone would stay a Dem if conservative with Dean, Clintons, Schumer, and Kennedy not to mention Kerry as head of their Party. Then vote for the Republican for Congress!
Yeah, that's a BFD. There are at least 25 Rats who want to impeach Bush for breathing. It would be news if there wasn't one of these screwball bills circulating.
John Conyers = Congressman Sambo
I hope this serves as a warning to all sane Americans; to give the reins of power back to the Democrat Party would be nothing less than National Suicide.
A real juggernaut.
Ask Major Owens
One of the more infamous moments of Major Owens' career came in 1995, when he announced that 200 million slaves were thrown overboard and into the Atlantic Ocean during the years of the slave trade. Even more laughable was the notion that this wound up altering the ecology of the ocean, as sharks began following the slave ships. Rep. Owens later apologized for citing phony numbers."
You can get 25% of the American people to believe anything. I believe 34% were against the US revolution.
And Gwen Moore's son is quite a tire slasher. LOL
