WASHINGTON (AP) - The Postal Service said Thursday it plans to reissue the Ronald Reagan stamp.

The new stamp will carry the 39-cent postage rate that took effect on Jan. 8, but will have the same image as the Reagan commemorative stamp released in 2005.

The original 37-cent stamp honoring the nation's 40th president was unveiled in 2004 at Reagan's library in Simi Valley, Calif., where he is buried.

I think they ought to name a constellation after Reagan...call it "The Big Gipper."

Excellent news.

Hopefully, the post offices around here will restock the Ronaldus Maximus stamps. They really have a great portrait of a smiling President Reagan. It makes you remember the good old days of the Reagan years. I haven't been able to find them for about six months.

No new release date has been announced yet.

It's not often commemoratives are reissued. This must be a VERY popular stamp!

I still have a few of them. I remember the postal clerk being mystified as to why they sold out so fast.

My postal clerk asked me why I wasn't buying them! I explained that I had bought a whole slew of them and was using them for local Republican Party membership notices. I needed something different for office mail and home mail so that I could keep my postage accounts straight! LOL.

this is outrageous! the only reason they re-issued the Reagan stamp was to hide the fact that stamps are THIRTY-NINE CENTS now. The fat cats in Washington know that Reagan is so beloved that ordinary people will not care or notice the price hike. I'm outraged, it's for the children, just trying to save lives and Bushfault.

I use it for wallpaper on my cell phone.

I tweaked it a bit and it looks nice.

I bought one sheet and used some on Christmas cards for my lib friends with no return address and a greeting "Guess who?". Then I went down to get a couple of pages of the same stamp and "Sorry there all gone". I'll have to get a good stockpile when they come back out. Some of the libs got a little p*ssed about the sender not revealing his name. Wow !!

Good News!!! I bought several hundred when they came out and when I went back they were out and not getting any more.

Our post offices still don't have the new 24 centers for post cards...

Good news. I ordered 3 sheets of them from the website when they first came out but used them all. There is a certain satisfaction I get putting the Gipper's pic on all my envelopes for the recipient to either appreciate or despise.

I do a lot of mass mailings for my business... over 2500 letters last year (not as much as the big boys, but I personalize my mailings, by hand mind you.) Anyway my best responses to my survey came from Reagan Stamp and by the Traditional Christmas stamp (Baby Jesus and Mother Mary).... I DO BELIEVE that they brought me additional successes in responses.

Why? Like minded people like people like themselves.

Conservative Catholic Reaganite!!!

Glad to see they are reissuing this stamp for such a great American!!!! Viva Reagan Revolution!!!!
