Hit Refresh? Why Bush may be thinking about replacing Cheney. Thursday, February 16, 2006 12:01 a.m. EST The Dick Cheney shooting incident will, in a way, go away. And, in a way, not--ever. Some things stick. Gerry Ford had physically stumbled only once or twice in public when he became, officially, The Stumbler. Mr. Ford's stumbles seemed to underscore a certain lack of sure-footedness in his early policies and other decisions. The same with Jimmy Carter and the Killer Rabbit.

Pathetic, pitiful, pouting Peggy. She so wanted to write some speeches for President Bush, but her syrup and arrogance are not his style.

When can we rid ourselves of these out-dated Republicans??

When will they retire?

Are there not term limits for journalists, columnists, editors?

These are the same asses who demanded the Pres apologize for Katrina, and open the wallet, because they cannot take on their liberal NY friends.

They haven't the principle, the want, or the need.

Their goal is to get rid of bad press so they are not uncomfortable, and dont' have to fight.

Maybe so. I think she's bitter and tired of being on the outside looking in! Her services are not in demand.

As Luis Gonzales might say "It's weed, isn't it"

"The Constitution DOES live, and breath and change, but not through the decisions of the court, but rather by the votes of the Congress.)"

A change of the Constitution is debated in Congress, 2 Thirds of the States must ratify it before it becomes an Amendment, so it it is basically a State by State issue and not a Congressional decision

"Some things stick. Gerry Ford had physically stumbled only once or twice in public when he became, officially, The Stumbler."

If the media could still pull this off then Bush would be known as an Alfred E. Newman and would not have won in 2004.Dan Quayle may be the last truly major Republican figure the MSM manages to destroy as easily as they used to.

She lost her wee mind 5 years ago, when President Bush didn't make her his head speech writer.

Peggy Peggy Peggy . . .

Took the words right outta mah mouf.

Peggy is evidently unaware of the history of sitting Vice Presidents being elected President. Prior to her boss, George H.W. Bush, do you suppose she knows who the last sitting Vice President to be elected President was?

It was...............................Martin Van Buren.

Kissinger can't be Vice-President. He's not a natural born citizen, and the VP must be one.

Noonan seems like a good speechwriter but not a good political thinker. She's written some other dicey stuff in the past. I haven't seen a lot of her stuff, but when I have, it's often been dubious.

She did work for Dan Blather at CBS News at one point I belive although she did right Reagan's speeches. I believe she also wrote Bush 41's "Read my lips, no new taxes" speech.

They're all in love with the sounds of their own words.

And I mean Republicans and Democrats.

And they all think they're in some kind of special group; and if you don't believe that, look at how many WRITERS/journalists/etc have spoken out against the Bush White House.

They all know that Bush and Cheney have figured out a way to go around them straight to the country -- and they're damn unhappy about it.

Witness Ari Fleischer: never had a word, good or bad, to say on Katrina, NSA, Plame, nada since he left the White House; now he's siding with the press.
