Hit Refresh? Why Bush may be thinking about replacing Cheney. Thursday, February 16, 2006 12:01 a.m. EST The Dick Cheney shooting incident will, in a way, go away. And, in a way, not--ever. Some things stick. Gerry Ford had physically stumbled only once or twice in public when he became, officially, The Stumbler. Mr. Ford's stumbles seemed to underscore a certain lack of sure-footedness in his early policies and other decisions. The same with Jimmy Carter and the Killer Rabbit.

Good morning..something to ponder... 2. Under the XXV amendment to the Constitution, a VP is confirmed by a MAJORITY vote of the House and Senate..It specifies that. But the Dems in the Senate would turn the hearing into Alito x 10,000...and if, heaven forbid, the Dems won the Senate...well,

Sorry...corrected post..
Good morning..something to ponder...
1. Because of Cheney's medical condition, we can assume that Bush and Cheney have a clear understanding of when Cheney would step aside because of medical reasons, were that ever to happen. And the WH has already planned for that eventuality..

I know it sounds funny but Mr Cheneys incident gives him the sheen of danger. Like you dont want to mess with this guy or he'll take you hunting. I dont think it did any real damage.Cheney's dangerous alright. Lawyer Harry Whittington was joking to the nurses the other day, "This was just Dick's first stab at tort reform."

what I find troubling, is that the news, TV, radio, newspaper, NEVER states this shooting as being accidental????Right ..... and did you hear the repoterette on Monday ask Scott McClelland, "Would it have been worsr if he (Mr. Whittington) had died?"
What a moroooon.

Peggy Noonan is a washed-up, camera-hungry slut. I wish the WSJ would hit the reset button on her.

I think that if Dick Cheney got the reputation as a Killing Machine, he'd be down with that...That's funny, but in all seriousness, I doubt it.

Right ..... and did you hear the reporterette on Monday ask Scott McClelland, "Would it have been worse if he (Mr. Whittington) had died?"

First, I looooove Dick Cheney as my Vice President. We need him there.
it's that Dick Cheney has been the administration's hate magnet for five years now.
Sorry, Peggy, not true. He is the Media's "hate target".

Look who the woman is married to. It's got to rub off at least a little. I do prefer to remember Peggy Noonan as a great speechwriter but I guess I need to add qualifiers. Pre 2000,say.

Cheney is the "dark force". Gerald Ford is "The Stumbler". Carter is the "Killer Rabbit". Funny, she doesn't mention Clintoon! I guess those images are just toooo visual.

No, I didn't see Letterman. I don't have a t.v. And Letterman is about the last thing I would watch. He's a jerk.

You really are one smart FReeper to not have a tv. That is pretty cool..............
Just wondering, do you miss anything at all that may be presented on some of the better stations (not many of them)?

Cheney needs to be replaced because he's supposedly the administration's "hate magnet"?
I've been reading and sharing Noonan's columns with family and friends for years, and I own most of her books, including her latest on JP II. I used to look forward to her weekly articles. No longer.
It might be safe to infer that something is not right with Peggy. Perhaps we should be praying for her.

The other night I went to my friend's house to watch the men's figure skating. I found it extremely tedious how it was mixed with other events and dragged out until 11:30 at night. It did not make me wish I had a t.v.
