As you start eating hot food -- slowly -- you get used to the heat. Gradually you just need a little more heat to make it hot but you can still taste the flavor. I love spicy! :o)

My sons love to make their chili HOT....HOT.....HOT
My youngest has finally learned to tone it down a little for his "dear, old mother" so that she can enjoy his chili. LOL
