Hmmmmmmmmm....I suspect its a way to get your kids majorly pissed off, but hey - it ain't their $$$!!!!

Given my track record, if I had a large estate I might consider doing something like this - if they do screw up and have to wait til 55, they will be beaucoup grateful that Mom & Dad loved them enough to do this, knowing it might cause some problems in the short term.........

i have to say, if it weren't so damn easy to get a divorce nowadays, none of this would be happening in the first place. the minute the $hit hits the fan in a marriage, both parties call it quits...and that ain't right.

then, to make matters worse, you've got greedy lawyers and a court system that favors the women in a marriage and squeezes the men for every penny they've got. adding insult to injury, they take the kids away from their father, to boot.

hell, if it were me, i'd bring up a prenup before tying the knot...not only that, but it gets the ex out of your hair after the marriage, except if there's kids involved. but then, you're not being taken to the cleaners over the marriage either.

I agree with you and I am sorry so many freepers think prenups are the way to go. If you hedge your bets before you marry, you're not really getting married. That people believe it's more important to protect money than to foster lasting values (love, marriage, etc.) is very sad. The Bible says, "Store not for yourself treasure on earth, where moths can eat and thieves can break in and steal. Rather, store up for yourself treasure in Heaven."
