Sorry for trying to add some levity to this string. Sometimes it just doesn't translate.

Having been a big fan of Baa Baa Black Sheep and the lead character (portrayed by Robert Conrad) I recognize and appreciate the heroism of Pappy Boyington.

In real life, I imagine Conrad couldn't carry Boyington's duffel bag, let alone his image.

I appreciate what the Marine Corps has done. As a former squid, I worked with Marines and appreciate the esprit de corps.

I once saw an interview with Conrad who had spent a good deal of time with Boyington in preparing for the role. Conrad just about admitted as much himself.
