lol.
Poultry would be an improvement over some of the guests who've visited my home.
Oh no! Not in my motorsicle too!
Precisely my point. Two things going on here: Politicians often don't think clearly; and laws which can purport to control problems(and be selectively enforced when convenient...and not necessarily for the intended purpose, either) are much to their liking as "solutions."
*Cheep* at twice the price.
yes, a poaltry fee
Bingo. That and mad cow disease. An outbreak of either can cost billions. The idea is to be able to trace any animal quickly and control the spread of disease.
>>>Politicians often don't think clearly
Especially when there are monies involved with implementing big companies pet projects.
That is the talking point anyway.
Can you imagine what this will do to the price of chicken.
Dogs and cats and goldfish
Or how about if we all have to eat imported?
Ag Dept wants to Import Chickens from China
News walterj 1:53 pm
While the USDA foists NAIS on American consumers, farmers and livestock* the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) is proposing importing chickens from China. Yes, thats right. Is that crazy enough? They want to tag and track all animals in the USA to prevent disease and then import poultry from China where Avian Bird Flu (H5N1) has been killing millions of birds as well as some people. Wait a minute?!? Wasnt one of the justifications for NAIS to stop the spread of Avian Bird Flu???
Not only that, but the USDA wants to ship poultry to China, have it slaughtered and canned and then shipped back to the USA for consumption! What!?!
Does this make sense? Wait
sense
cents
Ah, think dollars! Now I understand! Theyre outsourcing more jobs so big corporations can use cheap Chinese labor to keep the prices down and make up for the increased costs of raising chickens under NAIS! Well that makes cents!!! Im glad weve got that cleared up! As always, follow the money trail
Of course, only big producers will be able to take advantage of this deal so all you small farmers are out of luck twice over. You get the increased cost of NAIS. Plus, youre faced with lower market prices for your product since the big producers will undercut you with cheap, Chinese, slave labor. Sounds like the USDA is going to screw small producers coming and going. Move along folks, nothing new here.
*Is there a difference I ask or does the Govi-Corp consider all of us livestock to be managed for their maximum profit?
No. There was a guest on the Saturday morning talk show in Austin this past weekend, and she said ONLY livestock raised for show, slaughter and food products, i.e. milk.
Domestic cats, dogs and other household animals are exempt.
Exactly. There are so many stupid laws that for years now the best course of action is to just ignore them - nobody will live long enough to repeal them all, and we're going to have to reclaim our liberties one way or the other. Ignoring obvious stupidity and jury nullification are a couple ways to start.
Jury nullification. Free people don't roll over for totalitarian idiots.
All animals including fish are listed in their ID solution

No, they are exempt under 'NAIS', those animals fall under 'PAWs'.
They are playing on words.
I hope you are right.
$6.50 is still an obscene price to license ONE chick. "Buy beef, it's twice as cheap!"
