"you can see snippets of Brit's exclusive interview throughout the day, starting around 2pm ET".

hopefully, these snippets will be well thought out, so as to get the MSM in an uproar so bad that they start making false assumptions re the VP between 2 and 6 pm, then stick it to them when the full interview airs at 6pm.

fingers crossed, here.......

I'll go one better.

If only he would demonstrate his hand loading process for both "quail shot" and "media pundit shot".

I may be flamed but I do believe that the WH goofed on this one. It is best to be out in front leading the parade than trying to clean up after it. I know that he will say all the right things but they are coming a little late, the parade has already passed by.

I do not believe for one minute that if the WH had made an announcement about this horrible accident, the "hounds of hell" (Liberal media) would have acted any differently than they are now. Sure, it would have given them one less thing to yelp about, but they'd still be in attack-mode.

I heard a fella on Fox this morning saying that V.P. Cheney should have come out right away and talked to the press. He said that that was what Clinton would have done. Clinton would have come out right away and met with them, said he was terribly sorry and the media would have accepted that. Well hells bells! Of COURSE the media would have accepted that. Clinton was THEIRS! No doubt the press corp would have given rallied around him with hugs, slaps on the back, and "don't worry about it, we got ya covered".

No, it wasn't a huge screw up.

But, I understand that the press throws a tantrum it's not first in the know and some take the bait and assume it was handled incorrectly. Must sympathsize with the press after all. 'Cause we ALL KNOW had they told the press at the start the press wouldn't be in an uproar over some other perceived failing in the handling of the incident. Likely the 7 dollar fine for not having the proper tag. Whereas the people the press purport to represent, the American people, are disgusted at the pressers NOT when this was released from the VEEP's office. Only those tied up in beltway procedures are concerned about that.

Meanwhile I continue to think this is all so absurd but, fine, rather hyperventilating politicians and the rabid press focus on this then leak more national security secrets.

My advice to the VEEP-

IMO, I don't believe this story hurts anyone but Old Media. The people who hate this administration to begin with are the only ones who are "outraged" over the accident and the subsequent handling of the story by the admin. Sensible people aren't going to get themselves all worked up over what was clearly an accident, and will not be bothered by the fact that the MSM was passed over in favor of a local news outlet for getting the story out.

True. Everyone I know is saying the same thing and also saying that the MSM is shooting themselves in the foot with something larger than bird shot. ;)

I think there is a timeline on one of these threads, but it seems to me the incident was reported to the local Sheriff right after it happened. When it was reported to the Sheriff, then it was set up for Cheney to be interviewed about it the next day. I think all the hype in the media about Cheney not talking to LE right away is just hype. Media is trying to make it sound like he didn't report it until the next day, not the case. If you report an incident and LE agrees to talk to you later about it- then I see no problem with it at all.

This was most likely not treated as a serious incident by LE because it was bird shot, which is usually no big deal. Birdshot wounds rarely cause any problems; a local kid here was hit with shot a few years ago it was treated as a non-issue by our LE.

Doesn't anybody see Cheney as a real liability going into the '06, and especially the '08 elections? For the record, I was hoping he'd step aside during last year's election, in favor of Rice or someone else...

The only liability to Cheney is the target the libs have painted on his back. They painted it there because they fear him. He's the boogey man.

The press and the Dems target him because he is an asset. They now smell blood, and the scent is driving them nuts.

Lots of mixed metaphors there, but you should get my point.

The MSM had their collective panties in a knot because they were not the first ones notified. They were scooped by a small town newspaper. Now Dick is going on FOX! Does he know how to rub it in their faces or what?

They want Cheney to apologize.

That's not nearly enough for them. They want Cheney to crawl on his belly up to David Gregory and the rest of the jackals, and grovel and weep and beg for forgiveness from them, and then tearfully offer his resignation and just beg the authorities to come and get him and lock him up.

And even if Cheney were to abase himself so, they would still pummel him and kick him and heap scorn and ridicule on him forever. There's nothing he can do to satisfy the media, and I'm glad to see he isn't even bothering to try.

I can't remember how long it was from the time the Lewinsky story broke, to the day Clinton stood at that podium, shaking his finger at all of us, and proceeded to lie through his teeth. With Clinton, it wasn't a question of when he addressed the press, but whether what he said was the truth. I'm assuming that guy on Fox thinks that expediency in reporting something supercedes honesty and integrity.

I suspected this is how he would handle it: an exclusive interview.

Excellent move.
