"I think back on some of the things that were said here about Clinton (and during wartime!(Kosovo). President Hilary would love to prosecute people on this site."

It is a far different thing to have discourse in America on the issue of war, administrations, etc. Then it is to go to the home of the enemy and make propagandist, salacious and treasonous statements on their home turf.

It is also forgotten by the right that FDR often went after conservatives such as Robert McCormick, publisher of the Chicago Tribune.

Actually, the case I think of most often was one that occurred with a local newspaper publisher near my hometown.

And to be honest, the guy was a Pat Buchanan type whack job, but it galls me when the libs come unglued at the first hint of "infringement on their free-speech rights" when the FDR infringed on them unmercifully.

No, and if anyone says yes, question their patriotism.

So basically we've got Al Gore accepting hospitality and money from the bin Laden family, to bash America and our President. Nope, no story there. /s

He criticized America's new immigration policy, which more carefully scrutinizes Saudi visas, explaining, "The thoughtless way in which visas are now handled, that is a mistake."

9/11 bombers, did they come from Iraq? Or from Syria? Or from Iran? I wonder.

The targets of HCUA won in the end. Socialism is ingrained in America now

And that's the reason we should not go down the sedition road. The un-American activity hearings on national TV turned the public against "McCarthyism".

I want the public to turn against Zogbyism but since the media is an accomplice to fabricating fake news stories, I know that will never happen.

NYTimes, USA Today, Boston Globe, AP, Daily Mirror, CBS, NBC, BBC, Newsweek, LA Times, Washington Post, and others have all been caught making up news.

The public has still not run these hoaxed publications out of the public schools and libraries.

Which is a shame, because Joseph Mc Carthy wasn't a member of that committee; he was a senator not a congressman. His and JFK's committee was concerned with communists in the government.

Gore is an insignificant shell of a man. I'd put Jimmy Carter in that rank also. THis is America. You can say anything you want factual or otherwise. Leave these people alone...They would love the media attention...ie Just ignore them...

This IS America and I agree with you IF he said these things TO Americans IN America, but he said these things in Saudi Arabia to Arabs whose main education revolves around a bastardized form of Islam with their main goal being the destruction of Israel and Israel's main ally, the US. Having a former Vice President saying that Americans torture Muslims while in a country which views us as the Great Satan is not smart and is seditious.

I would recommend that the possibility of prosecution for sedition be explored in a question to the President at a news conference. e.g. "Mr. President, the media has, for years now, been filled with stories about prominent politicians and others badmouthing our war effort and giving aid and comfort to the enemy. This type of talk discourages our gallant troops and often takes place on foreign soil. Given our history of dealing with sedition during wartime do you have any plans to consider prosecutions for seditious acts?"

Nit-picking but I think you meant that he was not a Representative. Senators and Representatives are both Congressmen.

True, but only Representatives bear the formal title of Congressman.

I see NOTHING wrong with passing a law to make it a crime to spew provable LIES about our nation's C-in-C and/or the Military and it's operations WHEN our nation is at WAR AND the statements are made on FORIEGN SOIL.

Surely if the MSM refuses to publish a CARTOON for fear of the consequences they SHOULD be COMPELLED BY LAW not to publish or air a speech like Gore's made on foriegn soil without fear of prosecution.

The perfect case for sedition IMHO is the PUBLICATION of the Top Secret program of International Electronic Surveillance of Al Qaeda. Add the fact that it is being PORTRAYED by the MSM as domestic spying into the mix and SEDITION is very provable.

That's true, but the press turned him into the high priest of witch hunters. The same would happen today. Any Conservative politician going down that road is committing political suicide. The Liberals could pull it off because they have the MSM on their side.

The internet is rapidly taking their place. The days of the MSM propaganda machine are coming to an end. Things change.

If thinking and saying that the invasion was unwise, the occupation sometimes incompetent, some of our domestic counter-terrorism efforts counter-productive and that politicians of both major parties were - and still are - unwilling to face the consequences of leveling with voters about the sacrifices required to do the job right is treasonous or seditious or whatever then I guess I'm a seditious traitor.

And here all this time I thought I was just trying to think for myself and encourage others to do the same.
