Please take a moment to call the C-Span office to let them know you would like to see the Able Danger hearings today. The hearing starts at 2:30 eastern time today. It is not on their schedule and when I called C-Span they said they did not know if or when they would run the hearing. Then I called Congressman Weldon's office and they are baffled that C-Span is not running the hearing. I told Weldon's office I would put this thread up and hopefully enough people will call C-Span to encourage them to run the hearings live.

They did everything they could to ignore this. No one has been put under oath in a Defense department investigation.

And, thanks to the ever helpful NYS AG Eliot Abrams, Dietrich Snell didn't appear today. Is the committee going to take that affront lying down?

Weldon: Wasn't it true you gave a briefing in the 99 and 2000 timeframe where a DOD employee was present.

Shaffer: In 1/2001, I gave a briefing that I can talk about in closed session and we talked about AD and how it was addressing US persons. The deputy direction got up and left the room. Refused to listen to my testimony.

I thought he was joking at first.

Weldon: Was it bceause of the famouse Wall that didn't let intel agencies talk to each other.

Now he's a Deputy Director of the Intel agencies. The #2!

Excellent pick her Peach. There were two branches of Able Danger originally, one concentrated on China and the other on al qaida. The China branch was closed down by bubba for obvious reasons, they were getting all to close to the fact that he gave awawy state secrets\ to the Chinks.

The entire involvement of Weldon came about when Shaffer came to him for funding.Before agree-ding to backing his request for funding to restart AD Weldon asked Shaffer for details he got more than he ever dreamed and he is still getting them.

Weldon: If we allow this process to coneinue, I can assure you, when I give a speech about what happened here, every person wearing a uniform can't believe what's happening. We don't support people being harrassed for telling the truth or coverinng it up.

Are you aware of the AD team work that was done before the USS Cole attack.

Shaffer: They discovered info 2 weeks before the Cole attack, first of October, that there was interest in that port and we briefed special operations command chief.
