Nice!

I respond to your rant about a Quail License, and you retort with IRS! Eminent domain! Gun control! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!

I agree that everyone is a potential felon/criminal because of the IRS. I agree that recent eminent domain rulings discard much of the concept of private property. Gun laws are nipping away at the 2nd amendment. THESE ARE ALL PROBLEMS WITH THE FEDERAL GOBBMINT.

WE AGREE!

But what I responded to was your off-the-handle complaint about how $7 Quail Licenses make it impossible for a person to hunt without " no person can possibly avoid running afoul of the government."

THAT is simply not true. There are good reasons to slow down game taking in a world where city-slicker hunters outnumber the sustainable population and lakes must be stocked manually. For no other reason, it gives metrics on how many hunters/fishers there are so as to estimate the impact on the critters.

So rave on about the FedGov.....but chill out about State Parks and Wildlife regulations. And don't talk so high and mighty about "rodent hunting." Squirrel is tasty eatin you high-faluting yonder sitter!

It's all government control and regulation. The difference between us is that I'm consistent - I don't want the government regulating to the extent that it does. You, apparently, don't mind as long as it's regulation you desire:

As far as squirrel, my grandmother's only recipe for squirrel was boiling it ... I never developed a liking for it.
