It's all government control and regulation. The difference between us is that I'm consistent - I don't want the government regulating to the extent that it does. You, apparently, don't mind as long as it's regulation you desire:
There are good reasons to slow down game taking in a world where city-slicker hunters outnumber the sustainable population and lakes must be stocked manually. For no other reason, it gives metrics on how many hunters/fishers there are so as to estimate the impact on the critters.
As far as squirrel, my grandmother's only recipe for squirrel was boiling it ... I never developed a liking for it.

You aren't discussing this issue with me, you're just spouting your plattitudes with me as a target because I countered your opinion of wild game laws.
If you were interested in understanding what "I mind," you'd clearly have read what I wrote as a pro-State's Rights line. My posts have in no way indicated that I want an auto-archichal state where I get to set the rules that I like. I like some state laws, and I dislike some just like you. I like ALL OF THEM that were set by due process as the Constitution requires. I abhorr all of them the the FedGov has unjustly usurped, or that the Judicial branch as decreed by fiat.
