Yes, it was Kenedy County - the Armstrong Ranch, just south of the King Ranch (and a part of it at one time).

News articles report Kenedy County is where the sheriff's report was issued. Kleburg County is just above Kenedy.

According to the above article, Carlos Valdez's office covers both counties.

Kenedy County is so small (population 414, US census 2000), I don't know if they have enough people not connected to the Armstrongs to conduct a grand jury or investigation.

I grew up in Riviera just north of the Kennedy Co. line. Kennedy county has such a small population they rely on Kleburg Co. for nearly all government services.

They have their own sheriff and a small court house that is seldom used. US 77 is the only public road, and there are no schools. There is just one business, a convenience store, and there is a small post office and one church.

No time to read the hundreds of posts, so apologies if this was answered before: Kleberg county is Kingsville where Mr. Whittington was hospitalized. Kenedy county is where the accident occurred.

If the man were to die, it would be in Kleberg county and looks like some local yokel is saying something about a grand jury investigation in that case.

If true, should be strictly routine.

But if somebody is going to go political on this to hurt the VP and President, I suppose anything could happen.
