"It assumes that faith-based approaches to arbitration are innately exploitative," said Mark Freiman, honorary legal counsel for the Canadian Jewish Congress Ontario Region."

Well, to distill it into a single word... exactly.

Your personal faith/religious sect may have more stringent requirements of its members, but that does not give your faith/religious sect equality with/or superiority over a democratically elected governments secular laws.

Sheesh!

So they have outlawed religious arbitration.

While I'm not to keen on sharia, I do like the idea of arbitration to settle matters.

Even if the arbitration case is based on religious reasoning.

The Canadian Jewish Congress said Tuesday it was disappointed with the new law.

I NEED SOMEONE TO EXPLAIN THIS ME...The Canadian Jewish Congress SUPPORTS sharia?
Am I stupid or something? Don't hesitate to tell me if I am, I can take it.

Good!

Now they have to kick out these islamic claims of "blasphemy" in the cartoon intifada which is a part of their ongoing effort to introduce elements of sharia oppression on others. They know if they can introduce sharia, muslims generations down the road can point to this "evidence" of "islamic settlements" and claim the land for islam to justify future jihads.

Excellent!

When in a Christian country, do as the Christians do or get out.

Now all they have to do is pass a law that all mosques must be converted into rib joints and they will be done.

"Attorney General Michael Bryant says passage of the legislation means there will be only one law for all Ontarians, regardless of their religion."

What a revolutionary concept!

"Ontario residents will always have the right to seek advice from anyone in matters of family law, including religious advice."

Another revolutionary concept!

What's going on? Is it a REVOLUTION???

the use of religious tribunals to settle family law disputes such as custody and divorce.

What the heck does that actually entail?

It's never described in the article.

If two people want to use a religious tribunal, good for them, what business is it of the government to say they can't? OTOH since when does a religious tribunal have any official say as far the the govt is concerned?

What IS the current situation?
