Today President Bush welcomed the 2005 NCAA National Champion University of Texas Longhorns football team to the South Lawn at the White House, where he congratulated the team and coaches with great humor and warmth.........and a lot of Texas pride! Later in the day, he welcomed members of the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation in the Oval Office of the White House. The council, created by the USA Freedom Corps in 2003, promotes volunteerism and recognizes Americans who serve our communities and the world.
First Lady, Laura Bush visited the Giant Pandas at the National Zoo.
Today the news was released that Mr. Harry Whittington, who was accidentally hit with birdshot in a hunting accident with Vice President Cheney, had had a very mild, asymptomatic heart attack. He is being carefully watched and being treated conservatively, and is expected to fully recover. We need to keep Mr Whittington and Vice President Cheney in our prayers. The media are in a feeding frenzy, and are completely out of control.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island............ some wonderful photos today on the Daily Dose!! And a Happy Valentines Day to you all!!
I know he won't read it personally, but if he knows that a whole lot of us are praying for him, I'm sure it will help ease the burden for this dear man!
(I'm spending my Valentine's Day evening at the computer. Sigh......)
(Buckeyes were there in '03.......for the '02 season. GREAT stuff!)
Aww...where's Mr. Ohio?
"I wrote him an e-mail at the White House website today.
I know he won't read it personally, but if he knows that a whole lot of us are praying for him, I'm sure it will help ease the burden for this dear man!"
Good for you! He needs to know we are with him!
I knew that there was a lot of hate toward W, but hadn't realized there was so much toward Cheney, until this incident. It's unbelievable the fuss they're making over this. I think they know they can't get him on anything because of this accident, but they're in such a frenzy that they just can't stop themselves. I agree with you about the evil.
This morning Imus was insinuating that Bush would've handled this differently (as far as letting the press know earlier), but that Cheney runs things his way and doesn't even let Bush tell him what to do. Unbelievable. Especially for a man who has said over and over again that he is VP to be a support to the President, not to compete with him for power, and it's evident that is true in how he operates as VP.
In the kitchen. :)
I'm PROUD of my Buckeyes. VERY proud.
(And I rooted for TX, BIG time at the Rose Bowl. Don't underestimate our class up here, mr texas).
Well...go get him, and spend time with him. Or would you rather be with us? lol I'm just kidding, of course you would rather be with your hubby.
I guess that leaves Imus out..........and the entire left.
As for the hate.......I think we're seeing that the left hates Cheney as much or more than President Bush, and that's frightening.
The only positive thing about it, is that it's eating them all up inside, and they are shriveling like the Wicked Witch of the West right before our eyes.
I have to get the Pray for President Bush thread going, and then I'm heading for some 'quality time.'
HEY!! You posted those adorable gifs!! THANKS!!
...and Thank You for the Dose...
Okay...hehe have fun.
The Vice President only interacts with them when forced, he prefers to keep out of the limelight and works hard behind the scenes the reward for this is the unrelenting hatred and vilification.
God Bless him and his family today - Valentine's Day
Love your smilies
That is STUNNING, snugs. THANK you for adding it to the Dose tonight!
Thanks for the thread Ohio. Adding my prayer for the Veep, and I also know he is one tough cookie, he'll be OK. He has Lynne, friends, their daughters etc. Plus all our prayers.
As for the media.....well I can't post what I think of them. They are nothing but a non-stop circus. Carnival act. Freak show.
