Yes, from what I understand, it's a new requirement this year so officials are issuing warnings almost exclusively this year if the stamp is not procured.

Dick Cheney is also responsible for spider bites and that gunk that forms on top of a ketchup bottle.

Harry Reid took money from Abramhoff.
Hillary quite possibly knew about the killing of Vince Foster.
Sandy Berger Stole Top Secret documents from the National Archive.
Cheney didn't get a $7 license to shoot quail, despite apparently not shooting any quail.

There is also a $7.00 hunting tag required for Texas Jackalopes.

I just checked my Texas hunting license, and I don't have that stamp either. It's apparently a new requirement, but when I requested my license at the beginning of the season, I said that I wanted to hunt deer, dove, and quail.
I assumed that's what I purchased, but obviously I didn't. I haven't hunted quail this year, although I had several opportunities to do so, and would have assumed I was fully licensed to do so.

I can't believe the idiot liberals are making such a big deal over this. It was an ACCIDENT, and the victim, who brought it on himself, isn't even upset about it.
Can you imagine the furor if Cheney's driver had hit a pedestrian and driven off without stopping, as Hillary's driver did a few years ago? (Thanks for reminding me, Peach.) There were a few murmurs from the MSM for a day, and then it was over.

What would we have done to Kerry if he had shot someone during his hunt, then was found not to have the proper license, then was so late reporting it that a blood test couldn't be performed? Lets face it, Cheney did a number of incredibly STUPID things and needs to face up to it. He screwed up BIGTIME.

Cheney has the proper hunting license but not the stamp. What's the big deal? That happens all the time. What does it mean? We have to nuke China?
This whole story is so absurd. It would only be news if it had been Cheney that had been shot.

Another self-inflicted wound by the Republicans. They have had a lot of these in the past few months.

This law is so new in Texas (on the books since Sept. 1st 2005) that TPWD isn't even fining people for breaking it. That will start next Sept. 1.

As I have told FReepers on two other threads, this is a brand new law in Texas. It was passed in 2005 and we have never needed one before. Unless hunting is your business or you do a good bit of it, I suspect many do not even know they need this stamp.

"You're totally ducking and weaving here. We don't care if some ranch owner called the local paper," NBC's David Gregory said.
"David, hold on, the cameras aren't on right now. You can do this later," McClellan shot back.
Good one, Scott! Keep it up. David Gregory is such an unbelievable major league a-s-h-le.

It's apparently a new requirement
It is. There are only warnings being issued for not having one. The kicker is that Cheney bought the federal stamp, even though he did not need another one, but did not get the Texas stamp. Guess the money went to the Feds and not to Texas then. :)

Baznet's another city boy pontificating on matters he doesn't understand. Cheney had a license. He did not have a quail stamp. This ain't rocket science.
