A Statement From Cheney
National Review Online ^ | 2/14/06 | VP Statement (via Byron York)

Posted on 02/14/2006 12:31:19 PM PST by frankjr

The vice president's office just released the following statement:

"The Vice President was told when he arrived at the White House this morning that doctors had decided, based on overnight monitoring, to perform a cardiac catheterization on Mr. Whittington.

The Vice President's chief of staff passed him a note at about 12:30pm ET to inform him that Mr. Whittington's doctors would brief in Texas about 1:00pm ET on complications in Mr. Whittington's condition. The Vice President was on Capitol Hill when he received this information.

When the Vice President returned to the White House, he was able to watch part of the press conference. At about 1:30pm ET, the Vice President called Mr. Whittington and spoke to him. The Vice President wished Mr. Whittington well and asked if there was anything he needed. The Vice President said that he stood ready to assist. Mr. Whittington's spirits were good, but obviously his situation deserves the careful monitoring that his doctors are providing.

The Vice President said that his thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Whittington and his family."

Carter didn't report his attack by a killer rabbit in a swamp right away. Where's the outrage?

"That is the same procedure used to insert a stint into the arteries which have become almost totally blocked."

You are correct. Still there are some hospitals which use the technology for evaluation only. Near the area where I live, most cases that requires stents, or other surgeries are sent on to the bigger hospitals in Boston. I hadn't thought about the hospitals with which I am unfamiliar.

Pardon, please?

Oh, THAT is hilarious. You parachute in to make an unfounded allegation, and then, rather than bring even the tiniest sliver of support for your charge, you claim to be 'ignoring' me. I guess you weren't 'ignoring' me when you dropped in to make your charge, just when you have to back it up.

What a child.

Here's a link to the game warden's report. As you can see, the cause of the accident is "Victim covered by shooter who was swinging on game." The box for "Victim moved into line of fire" is not checked.

Got anything except unsupportable ad hominem? I doubt it.

If you could read a thread, you would see that the name-calling started above the post you reference. But that would require elementary reading ability on your part.

Of course, Howlin' still hasn't come up with anything for that 'left side' claim - which is gonna be tough, since the folks who were there dispute it.

See how easy it is when you actually READ the thread before throwing out your kneejerk response?

I hear all sorts of ex-officials introduced under the highest paid position they ever held. It's a common courtesy that I'm sure you must be aware of.

For example, all sorts of people are introduced as Ambassador, although they haven't actually performed in that function for years.

So your "unless Sean is lying" comment is ridiculous.

Ah, sweetie, I can read a thread, and the hostility started and continues with you. Some people can debate without having to trample their opponents/victims underfoot making innuendos about their reading capabilities, intelligence, yada yada yada blah blah blah.

Me? I'm still waitin' on you to kiss her southern white butt.

causing what the medical team calls a mild heart attack.

Did you hear the medical team use the expression "mild heart attack?" A person can have atrial fibrillation without having an actual heart attack. Sometimes the MSM uses phrases that were not actually said, repeat them over and over and then claim that they are fact.

Howlin', the article below (from CNN no less) seems to corroborate that Hunnington was likely on the left of Cheney, as you said - OB1

Excerpts from......

Hunter shot by Cheney has minor heart attack
Doctors: Birdshot moved to Harry Whittington's heart

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (CNN) -- The fellow hunter who was shot and wounded by Vice President Dick Cheney has suffered a minor heart attack after a piece of birdshot migrated to his heart, a hospital spokesman said Tuesday....

Harry Whittington, 78, is in stable condition in intensive care and will remain hospitalized for up to seven days, hospital officials said....

...Authorities have cleared Cheney of wrongdoing in the accidental shooting of Whittington, but questions about Saturday's incident remain....

..."This department is fully satisfied that this was no more than a hunting accident," the Kenedy County Sheriff's Department said in a statement issued Monday evening....

Sheriff's deputies in Kenedy County, near Corpus Christi, questioned Cheney on Sunday and Whittington on Monday....

Whittington, a prominent Texas lawyer and a campaign donor to the Bush-Cheney campaigns in 2000 and 2004, was hit on the right side of his face, neck and chest when Cheney, an avid hunter, turned and fired on a covey of quail at a ranch near Kingsville, Texas, on Saturday....

According to Katherine Armstrong, who accompanied the hunting party, Whittington shot a quail, dropped back from the rest of the group to retrieve it and was rejoining the group when Cheney fired.....

A Kenedy County sheriff's deputy questioned Cheney about the shooting on Sunday, Mazur said....
