"It was just a question. Jesus Christ..."

You didn't expect the Cheney-bot Inquisition did you?

I'll risk the same by pointing out the early reports about "superficial" wounds only were total BS. From the article:

"As far as I know, the BB is in a fixed position and is not likely to travel," Blanchard said. He said the remaining pellets — as many as 150 — in Whittington were not in a position to threaten his heart.""

So in other words, the DOCTORS did a horrible job in removing all the pellets?

So again, does anyone know if there's a chance Cheney could still be in legal trouble if Whittington dies?

Doubtful. The authorities have cleared Cheney of any wrongdoing and have officially declared the incident an accident.

no way. The victim was not adhering to the rules of the game and it was his own fault from what they said. I think that is how the story goes. Ridiculous. Is kennedeee guilty of manslaughter when on top of everything he left the scene of the crime knowing damn well the young woman would run out of air and die???????????? Did he report it immediately to the police instead of trying to cover it up?

Fie on FNC!

I'm looking at Studio B. Smith went from stating, "Just because Bush is President, I'm not automatically going to call him a liar," to practically being a shill for Al-Qaeda.

Only Neal Cavuto openly commented on the feeding frenzy regarding this story.

I hunted with a guy who would shoot at his dogs if they ranged too far. Didn't hurt them, scared them, maybe some welts. All except one dog, a pup he said was the best dog he ever owned.
Oh, you want to hear about him?
He was a young black labrador named `Pericles'. When `Perry' spotted a covey of quail, he not only pointed but got up on his hind legs if it was a big covey. Then he moved his hips back & forth in a, well, salacious manner. Occasionally he would do it with a stick in his mouth, and shake the stick violently back and forth while doing his 'Elvis' thing.
That meant: "There's more ****ing quail in there than you can shake a stick at . ." And he was always right.
Nope, Perry never got shot. He was a good pup.

This is the biggest non-story I've seen in quite a while. The media is pissed off because the Cheney people waited a day to tell them about it. How cares !!!! Now, Whittington has a minor heart attack. He's 78 and got hit with buckshot. who cares !! These aren't national security issues here. It was a hunting accident that involved the VP. Wake me up when it's over, I'm paying attention to other more pending issues facing the country. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

You know damn well if it had been somebody like say Al Gore, who had shot somebody, we'd be screaming for Al Gore to be frog marched into prison.

Well, if we're going to accuse people using hypotheticals, let me add mine: "You know damn well if Al Gore had shot somebody, he would've covered it up and had someone else in the hunting party take the blame."

People in Texa are prosecuted often in Texas for Involuntary Manslaughter for killing someone in automobile accidents. I don't know what might mitigate for or against that in this case.

this course of events will change the VP situation in any case.

This is my sober assessment as well.

Involuntary manslaughter is never the charge unless the accused breaks the law. IOW, run a stop sign and kill someone.

There was no law broken by Cheney. None.

Is this the Jim Pinkerton who appears as a regular on FOX?

Oh, no--not him TOO. I did not think he was a drama queen.

"These HATERS are really sick people"
So true. Call me square, but I feel very sorry for all those involved. I'm sure the Cheney's aren't making jokes about this, and I'm sure Mr Cheney is probably feeling as bad as can be imagined. I will just pray that Mr. Whittington fully recovers, and that the Cheney's can overcome this unfortunate accident. Oh, and I'll throw in a few prayers for the haters, maybe God can do what man can't.
