I suppose it could have migrated there through a blood vessel.

Oh crap. I didn't think birdshot would penetrate all those clothes and skin, from the reports I first heard.

Best wishes for his recovery.

article aqlso said that he want to go home. That's a good sign. At 78 I guess they won't take chances.

Actully, a small bird shot can travel easily through the veins and through the liver and on to the heart. It probably got into a vein just under the surface of the skin and has been working its way through the circulatory system.

I had a friend in 7th grade who fell on a disecting needle he was carrying in his pocket and it ended up in his liver where it lodged. A bird shot would negotiate the corners much easier than a needle.

The perfect opportunity for Dick Cheney to gracefully resign and for Condi Rice to take over as VP.

Rove is a genius!

He was hit in the upper chest, face area. My be is that some penetrated into the jugular or carotid and migrated down tot he heart that way. 30 yards, with clothes on? Must have hit bare flesh to get that deep, I doubt he is shooting in the buff.
