I'm glad somebody else said it. A lot of people here apparently think Cheney is indestructable. The only good thing about this tragedy is that Bush wasn't there.

I think you are jumping the "gun" a bit. Except for Dr. London, all reports are that the man is just fine.

However, that said, I always thought that Cheney would resign by 2007 due to health reasons. That way President Bush gets to put a person in place for the 2008 nomination.

I am not sure VP Cheney wants to stay in office until January 2009 anyways. Why would he want to put up with this crap to begin with anyways?

If Whittington does die, Cheney will feel like crap without having the media around beating him up for 3 years. Wouldn't hold it against him if he did retire.

It's Bush's fault that Cheney was hunting, Bush's fault that he had a heart attack, Bush's fault that it's cold in NYC, Bush's fault that the earth is not flat.....

The media probably DOES think Bush was there.
