Hubby says a 28 guage pellets are smaller then the tip of a pin needle The gun is a 28 guage but that has nothing to do with the size of the shot. The shot shell size determines how big the pellets are. My bird hunting hubby says Cheney was probably using #9 shot for quail, which are small pellets, but there are a number of shells that can fit into a 28 guage. The higher the shot shell size the smaller the pellets.
