Per the Associated Press:

(AP) WASHINGTON The man shot by Vice President Dick Cheney has shown signs of having suffered a heart attack due to his wounded, medical doctors said Tuesday.

Per NBC:

Doctors in Texas say some of the birdshot that Vice President Cheney accidentally fired at a fellow hunter over the weekend has lodged in the man's heart, causing a minor heart attack.

Doctors say Harry Whittington is still in stable condition, and that he showed no chest pain or other signs of a heart attack. They say they have been watching for movement of the birdshot within the body of the 78-year-old man.

The man shot by Vice President Dick Cheney experienced a heart irregularity after birdshot moved into his heart.

The birdshot traveling to this man's heart can be fatal.

It would have the same affect as a blood clot/occlusion on his coronary arteries but in this case anticoagulants won't dissolve the blockage and they can't "stent" the blockage - I would wonder if they could attempt to surgically remove this.

A cardiac arrthymia could be fatal for this poor man.

Cheney most likely is distraught over this I would think.

that Vice President Cheney accidentally fired at a fellow hunter

I HATE that phrase. He accidentally hit a fellow hunter, he did not accidentally fire at him. There is a huge difference in those two.

"(AP) WASHINGTON The man shot by Vice President Dick Cheney has shown signs of having suffered a heart attack due to his wounded, medical doctors said Tuesday."

"due to his wounded"? If the AP wants to write a misleading lead sentence, couldn't it at least use proper grammar?
