Kerry Still Thinks He'll Get Nod in '08
If at first you don't succeed...
A former top campaign fundraiser to Sen. John Kerry insists that when the smoke clears in the race for the 2008 Democratic nomination for president, Kerry will once again be the party's nominee.
Here's the scenario the aide outlined for NewsMax:
Hillary Clinton is the front-runner and she has the money and the organization to capture the nomination.
Other potential candidates, including Joe Biden, Evan Bayh and Mark Warner, don't have the money and will run out of cash before the race is over.
Not John Kerry, however. He still has millions of dollars left over from his previous campaign - plus the financial support of his billionaire wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, who can afford to pay whatever it might take to keep Kerry in the race.
In the end, then, it will come down to Clinton vs. Kerry.
But Clinton is "too polarizing" to win the nomination, the fundraiser told NewsMax, leaving Kerry to get the nod.
When asked if Kerry himself wasn't "polarizing," the aide pointed out that if just 60,000 Bush voters in Ohio had voted for Kerry instead, the Massachusetts Democrat would have won the election.
"He's a proven vote-getter," the Kerry supporter declared.
If the scenario plays out, Kerry could also wind up as the first Democrat since Adlai Stevenson to come out the loser in two presidential elections.
I really don't like or trust McCain, but if he gets the nomination, I'll vote for him before any dem. For one reason, just in case there's another Supreme Court vacancy: I think McCain can be pressured into nominating a conservative and there's no chance of that with a dem.
What is he smoking? Man, that's some serious weed...
Yes.
I liked their motto last time, "Kerry/Edwards, A Stranger America".
Now that's hilarious!
LOL!!!
What's John Kerry smoking?
Kerry will win in 2008 before he loses.
What a great idea! I hope he chooses the Ditch Witch as his veep candidate...
We can only hope...
Kerry is a nod.
Egad, the man's self delusions are without bounds!
the man's delusional~! A friggin idiot! Gosh!
LOL! I thought it was "Verry/Leftwards: A Socialist America"
But the public has seen the "real" Kerry since the election. He has no chance in '08.
If the Republicans want to win, they are going to have to nominate a true conservative. If we nominate someone that doesn't fire up the conservative base, Kerry (or some one else) might have a chance since some Americans will be tired of a Repub in the White House and Kerry obviously has serious name ID & $$$. If the dems are smart, I think they would run a more moderate democrat than Kerry or Hill. Richardson, Warner, someone like that...we could be in trouble then unless we have a super strong, conservative candidate.
then I want to re-iterate what I have stated in previous posts. Historically speaking our pool of successful presidents, comes from our governors, not senators. Non-governor elected presidents do NOT finish their term. All of these people have died in office by assasination, or illness.
Have a nice day.
What a gold digging dirtbag.
I'm not laughing.
Hillary/Richardson scares me.
I don't think so, and here is why.
Any establisment dem has to be gun shy of candidates who can't even carry their own state.
As bad as losing, is looking outright stupid, and when your boy can't win his own state, well that speaks volumes.
Kerry at least DID win Mass. And I agree with everything else that you wrote
I'm really looking forward to the Clintoon/Dean ticket. Especially during the debates. Or the Gore/Dean ticket. Or the Beatty/Gore. Or the ..........
LOL...cue the SWIFTBOATERS" music. :-)
