The family of a Brazilian man shot dead after being mistaken for a terrorist are "shocked" that his killing is to be reportedly mirrored in the plot of the next James Bond blockbuster
According to reports, a leaked script reveals that Bond kills an unarmed bomb suspect, only to find it was the wrong man.
Bond, played by Daniel Craig, 37, tries to clear his name after CCTV footage of the death is broadcast worldwide.
Asad Rehman, spokesman for the de Menezes family, said: "If you can imagine what it must feel like, to think in a year or two's time, to walk down the street to see posters depicting how your loved one died in such horrific circumstances, it can only bring more anguish.
Pierce Brosnan IS the wrong man.
he was my favorite Bond - Brosnan after that
sophisticated horndogs
I'm glad I was around for the Roger Moore years.
Roger Moore got the BEST tail
What a stupid plot. God forbid Bond fight Muslim terrorists. Has he EVER done that?
When I read the headline I assumed that we were the villains this time. I can't imagine being this man's family. It was a tragic mistake but it was right after the bombings in London and, from all accounts, he was acting suspiciously and ran when the officials tried to talk to him. He was staying in house that was being watched and left the house, in the summer, wearing a bulky coat. I have always wondered if he was a decoy sent out to find out if the house was being watched.
No he was buddies with the Mujahadeen against the renegade Russians.
IMHO
James Bond goes PC. Good grief...
Early reports suggested that Mr de Menezes had been wearing bulky clothing and that he vaulted a ticket barrier at Stockwell Tube station and ran down an escalator to escape police firearms officers.
These were not contradicted until three weeks later when documents leaked to ITV News revealed that the 27-year-old had walked into the station at a normal pace and even paused to pick up a free newspaper. He was also clad only in a light denim jacket.
1% of the gross would quiet the family's outrage.
Actually, most of that information, which came out just after the shooting, is incorrect. Most of the orignal claims came from several eye witnesses, whose stories are not holding up. He was not staying in a house under surveillance. He lived in an apartment building that was, but not in the actual apartment that was being watched. He did not run from the cops. He did not jump a barrier. He actually used his travel card to get through the system. And he was sitting on the train when he was challenged by the cops. He was not wearing a bulky coat. He was wearing a denim jacket.
So why did they shoot him?
Also it was fairly chilly that morning...especially for a Brazilian native. Under 60 degrees when he left his apartment.
Well, that is the million dollar question. Seems to me, there was a lot of miscommunication from the guys calling the shots to the guys pulling the trigger. Taking into account the atmosphere at the time...
Where did you get this info?
(And anti-gun.)
