I think what they wanted was to lead off the Sunday a.m. talk shows so they wouldn't have to discuss Iran or more serious matters. I don't think Cheney cared one way or another. I think his motive was to have the story told by an eyewitness so there would be no doubt as to what happened. Everyone looks for deep dark secrets in this Administration, when almost always, what they tell you is the straight truth.

"Tony Snow for White House Press Secretary!"

I suspect Tony wouldn't want to take a pay cut as the WH Press Secretary.

That is soooo true! Here's another man that tells the truth - -and I love what he said!

Scalia Says Opponents Are 'Idiots'

By JONATHAN EWING, Associated Press Writer 10 minutes ago

People who believe the Constitution would break if it didn't change with society are "idiots," U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says.

In a speech Monday sponsored by the conservative Federalist Society, Scalia defended his long-held belief in sticking to the plain text of the Constitution "as it was originally written and intended."

"Scalia does have a philosophy, it's called originalism," he said. "That's what prevents him from doing the things he would like to do," he told more than 100 politicians and lawyers from this U.S. island territory.

According to his judicial philosophy, he said, there can be no room for personal, political or religious beliefs.

Scalia criticized those who believe in what he called the "living Constitution."

"That's the argument of flexibility and it goes something like this: The Constitution is over 200 years old and societies change. It has to change with society, like a living organism, or it will become brittle and break."

"But you would have to be an idiot to believe that," Scalia said. "The Constitution is not a living organism, it is a legal document. It says something and doesn't say other things."

Proponents of the living constitution want matters to be decided "not by the people, but by the justices of the Supreme Court."

Enjoy the Irish Coffee....A few irish Birthday toasts to ye!

May the good Lord take a liking to you...
But not too soon!

May you live to be 100 years, with one extra year to repent.

And, my personal favorite:

May those that love us, love us.
And those that don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if he doesn’t turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we’ll know them by their limping.

Slainte!

LOL! You sound like me and Mr.FF!

Reminds me of 2 different kinds of women I worked with once, at the same time. One was extremely needy, the type who would sulk for months if he didn't get her a card. The other was more like me. Needy-one was talking one day about how her fiance would go on about how gorgeous she was, that even her teeth were sexy, that kind of B.S. The other gal and I looked at each other and in unison said "eeuuww!" Other gal said, "if my husband said that to me, I'd SMACK him!" I was so glad to see there were other women like me out there. She took the words out of my mouth! lol

Consider it protected. But, some of our best "clowns" are very perceptive and warm inside the funny on the outside.

BTW: Your card is purchased, but I don't have a stamp; come to think of it I don't have your address either! [And, of course, if I send it to you, then I won't have one for Mrs. FOX and then I won't get fed. OK. Maybe, next year.] 8)

If someone told me my teeth were sexy I would drop like he was on fire. Ewwww....

It's nice to have the acknowledgment on Valentines Day, but it doesn't have to be a card or gift. Just a good backrub, or bringing home dinner so you don't have to cook is nice.

I think romantic gestures are more sincere when they are unexpected. A couple of years ago my husband sent me flowers for Halloween! LOL THAT was unexpected!!
