'Freegans' choose to eat garbage

These people don‘t eat out of dumpsters because they‘re poor and desperate. They do it to prove a political point. You wouldn‘t expect someone to choose a lifestyle that involved eating out of dumpsters. Kind of seems like something you do as a desperate last resort. But there‘s an entire society of people who willingly get their meals out of the garbage. They‘re called freegans, and they say they have a reason for doing it.

We all know grocers throw out a lot of food that is edible, but no one will buy it because its bruised or outdated.

If these people want to go into dumpsters and eat it thats fine with me, But please dont invite me over to dinner . Can you imagine what their wives say when they come home smelling like an old dumpster, and they have to wash their clothes?

Freegans embrace community, generosity, social concern, freedom, cooperation, and sharing in opposition to a society based on materialism, moral apathy, competition, conformity, and greed.

Another words, free loaders and cheap-o's, holding hands and singing Kumbah'yah, trying to make you look like a scum bag while living your regular life.

It never cease to amaze me, how people with abnormal and warped point of views, always get a first page coverage(electronic and/or printed media), while day to day real issues affecting millions never get a chance at it.

It also looks to me, that in order to grab the so called "media's" attention, one has to be either mentally deranged, a damn good actor and stunt man, or just plain crazy! That will get your 15 minutes of fame...and maybe make your point(hopefully a good one!).

Dumpster diving was said to be a way to "get in touch with your inner raccoon"!
