NEWSFLASH: An accident!!!

As much as I enjoyed the title of the story linked, I think this story is out of control and, once again, it will backfire on the media.

As usual the MSM reports it as criminal activity and it is much ado about nothing....

No alcohol involved. Someone needs to slap Ron Reagan silly. He was on MSNBC today and wondered aloud several times whether Cheney might have been drinking and that's why Secret Service wouldn't let local law enforcement interview him.

Perazzi .28-caliber shotgun

This will be news to the fine Italian gunmaker, famous for a 28GA over/under upland bird gun.

Anybody else in the state and it would not even have made the local news.

According to the state report, Cheney was wearing a "blaze orange" cap and "coat/vest" and brown trousers and was toting an Italian-made Perazzi .28-caliber shotgun.

Was the other guy wearing orange? .28-caliber shotgun? WTF is that? LOL! do they mean 28 Gauge?

he did not obtain a required "upland game bird stamp."

But he only shot his buddy, right? He needed a "buddy stamp."

The paparazzi have discovered that a Perazzi was used by Cheney to 'plug' the aged Whittington in the tall grass...

Oh, the Italians are in on it too, the WH Press Corp will probably show up at the Olympics asking insane questions.

I love how the Press is calling him "The Shooter."

I think it's my favorite Checney nickname.

In an interview with deputies, Whittington "collaborated Vice President Cheney's statement," ....

It would have been even better if they had corroborated it.

I just read a transcript of the press briefing about the accident, here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/02/20060213-4.html

One reporter actually asked, "Scott, would this be much more serious if the man had died?"

---an Italian-made Perazzi .28-caliber shotgun---

That guy is lucky he wasn't killed. I hear those are really powerful and dangerous guns. Maybe we need special gun legislation to keep them out of the wrong hands. :^)

Italian-made Perazzi .28-caliber shotgun

Ok, being only moderately knowledgeable about firearms, can someone tell me what this is? I've never heard of a shotgun referred to in calibers.

".28-caliber shotgun"

I quit reading here! Don't they realize this is only slightly larger than a .22 caliber rifle?
