• Figure Skating - Americans Rene Inoue and John Baldwin compete in the pairs free skate in a field including medal-favorites and European champions Tatyana Totmiyanina and Maxim Marinin from Russia.
• Snowboarding - Women: High-flyer Gretchen Bleiler and defending Olympic gold medalist Kelly Clark lead a deep Team USA in women's halfpipe.
• Speed Skating - Men: Defending Olympic gold medalist Casey FitzRandolph and current World Sprint champion Joey Cheek race in the 500m against standouts from Canada and Japan.

Thanks for the ping... You two are doing a FABULOUS job with these Olympic threads! Unfortunately, we've missed much of the Olympics so far (since we were at CPAC), but your threads are helping us catch up. I don't know if I'll comment much on the thread tonight, but we'll be watching.

We had a friend tape the opening ceremony... hope it was wonderful. This was perhaps the first time I've ever missed an Olympic opening ceremony on television...
