(FORT HOOD, TEXAS) -- One person is in custody after a sniper opened fire on troops this morning at Ft. Hood, the country's largest military instillation, 1200 WOAI news reported this morning.
Base Public Affairs Officer Delena Kanaus says the shots were fired at morning troop formation of the 13th Corps Support Command, a unit which performs supply, transportation, and other support functions for III Corps, which is based at Ft. Hood.
Kanaus says nobody was injured in the shooting.
"The post closed all outgoing traffic today as military police searched for suspects in the shooting," Kanaus said. "Post authorities immediately locked down and secured all outgoing gates."
She says the shooting is being investigated by local and federal authorities. She could not say if the suspect is a soldier, or whether any specific individuals were targeted. She says 'several shots' were fired but she says she didn't know what type of weapon was used, or how many shots were fired.

FORT HOOD, Texas -- Nobody was hurt Monday when a man fired shots near some Fort Hood soldiers as they gathered for a formation exercise.
Authorities say the suspect was later captured outside the post.
A Fort Hood official says the man's believed to be a civilian. His name wasn't immediately released.
Authorities say the shots were fired in the vicinity of the 13th Corps Support Command during a troop formation.
Outgoing gates were locked down before the suspect was caught.
The case has been handed over to the FBI, which couldn't immediately provide more details.

Either he really didn't want to kill anybody, or he was a really bad shot. I'm very glad to hear no soldiers were hit.
Now that guy got gonads. Imagine attacking an entire corps single-handed.

This was my first thought, after all the Armstrong Ranch is only a couple of hundred miles south of Ft Hood and the VP has shown himself to be a bad shot!
