The big problem here is that we have plenty of laws that can be used. the 90 day detention with judicial review would be useful.

The ID card isn't the problem it is Labours stupid idea of putting it all on some central database. Big Brother here we come.

In the meantime use the laws we have already to arrest and deport more often and with less apology.

We have to be very careful to get the balance right.
