Today on Fox News Channel, GOP Rep. Heather Wilson raised the previous wiretap on Martin Luther King during her discussion and answering questions about the President's Terrorist Surveillance Program. She seemed to use this as a reason that we needed more oversight of the president's program. She said something to the effect "...you know, a friend of mine sent me an email about Martin Luther King being wire tapped....".

She appeared on Keith Olberman, a definite sign she has lost any self-respect as a legislator and a patriot.

She is now a liberal media whore, renting herself out for reelection.

Sad.

Why does the public insist on electing idiots to Congress!
In this case we have a Republican idiot!
If the media actually existed as a responsible informed, educated impartial watchdog they would heaping scorn on such stupid stupid statements.

When will Republicans learn that they lose more than they gain by coddling up to the enemy? Heather is my representative but if she keeps this up I may let her see if she can replace my vote with two Democratic votes.

She's a Rhodes scholar and first USAF academy graduate to ever serve in Congress.

How do ya like them apples?

I guess that would mean that for a Western gal, she's dropping 'Rhodes' apples on her path to re-election.

Having participated in some campaigns in NM in 2004, I got a chance to see firsthand what it is like to be Heather Wilson. I would be surprised if there is any GOP House member in the country who lives in a more hostile district. Every single year since the early 90s when she won a three way special election (where the Green party split the anti-GOP vote and let her win with 37% of the vote), she has been #1 on the hit list of the Dems to take back NM Congressional District 1.

Heather Wilson has been a fairly (not solid, but fairly solid) reliable GOP vote. She lives in a district where the enviro-wackos, anti-american, Christian hating left complete head-to-head with the DNC for voters. If she were a straight up conservative, she would lose by 10%. And despite being outspent in 2004 by about 6 to 1, she still managed to hold onto the seat. 3 out of every 5 ads on TV in NM are about Heather Wilson and 5 out of 6 of those are anti-Wilson ads being run by Moron.org and other non-New Mexico 527s. Its literally a Dresden like air campaign against Wilson every two years and it just gets worse each time because there are so few competitive House seats.

Wilson is pretty wimpy compared to JD Hayworth but considering her district you have to cut her some slack. Not enough slack to go on national television and compare Bush to Hoover/JFK though. If she did this locally, that would be one thing. But doing it on national TV is a gratuitous slap at people who have busted their butt to help keep her wimpy butt in office in a district where she would otherwise be eaten alive. She is going to need even more help this year fending off Soros/Sheehan/Moore/Franken/Streisand/etc. and she is going to need Ken Mehlman to help raise a butt-load of money for her and run an air campaign of her own to at least take away available airtime from the loony left who will be bashing her exclusively this year.

Her district is so incredibly anti-war that Cindy Sheehan might seem like a moderate. Wilson would still be better served to be cautious in her support of the NSA program but without making derogatory comments about it or W. If she is just another anti-war nut, then there is no reason for the sane people in her district to vote for her. And she will never please the anti-american types anyways so the knee jerk reactions by her will only be seen as pandering. She would probably be better off staying off national TV entirely.

She associates MLK with Al Qaeda. If it wasn't okay to spy on MLK than it's not okay to spy on al qaeda? That's a sick woman there.

You had better tell her what you just said to FR. In case she doesn't have someone reading here for her.
