The bigger question is, will traditional, mainstream conservatives vote for a liberal Republican on a national ticket, for either prez or VP?

Since we are at war, traditional, mainstream Republicans WILL vote for someone who is very strong on national defense. In a perfect conservative world, Rudi would be Reagan II on all the social issues. Since thats not the case, we'll have to deal with our personal disappointments of the a man's character. And be glad of his abilities in politics. I saw how Rudi took down the public service unions in N.Y. City, and got them under some semblance of control. His stance on national defense and ability to deal with people who directly affect me and my family is a higher priority than whatever he thinks about Brokeback Mtn., abortion (which he has no control of), or his stance on gun control while being Mayor of New York City. Rudi speech off. (your welcome)

I'm pretty familiar with liberal NewYorkers like Rudi Giuliani. There are plenty of good conservative polticians around who would do just as good a job on defending America, as POTUS or VPOTUS, as Rudi the liberal would. If I was still living in NYCity, I'd have no problem with Rudi being Mayor. I would prefer not having a liberal one step away from the Presidency. That includes both liberal Democrats and liberal Republicans like Rudi.

The best way I know how to deal with Rudi's character flaws, is not to vote for him on a national ticket. Btw, please dont try to make Rudi out to be a Reagan-like figure. He is not.

Get a f-ckin' clue. Rudy kow towed to the police and medical services (medicaid!) unions, is vehemently anti-gun, on record as being pro-illegal alien (claining that the immigration laws of 1996 were "extreme" and that illegals were welcome in NYC), pro-bilingual ed, pro-abortion, pro-gay rights, pro-UN. Is there any issue he is conservative on with the exception of foreign policy?

Lets look at his personal life: Lapsed Catholic, three times divorced, who lived with two gay men after his last divorce. Cheated on all of his spouses. Refused to hire anyone who was not weaker than him, showing his insecurities as a man. Associated with Ray Harding (corrupt political thug) and Bernard Kerik (nuff said).

Rudy Giuliani would combine the worst of the Grant Administration with the worst of NY Rockefeller Republican liberalism.

SAY NO TO RUINA GIUSSOLINI!

Why do you think that Rudy has some "stance" on national defense that gives him any edge ? He was just the friggin mayor of NYC.
