We are truly in trouble if our teachers and school administrators are too stupid to tell the difference between cocaine and sugar.
I agree that this is ridiculous. However, given the ridiculous lawsuits that are filed in this country over the most ridiculous things, it is no surprise that schools make ridiculous rulings on situations like this. I'm not supporting them. Sugar is not cocaine. Simply smelling it would have indicated that it was sugar. The custodian should simply have given it back to him and told him that drugs were no joking matter. That should have been the end of it.

We are. The "privacy issues" are the dumber-than-rocks administrators (some with PhD's, I'll bet, despite IQ's reaching as high as the low 30's) who desperately DON'T want to be tarred and feathered as they deserve.
Besides, they just got angry that the boy's antics took away from "condom practice"...
No cheers, unfortunately.
No kidding. Sugar always makes me sneeze.
Sometimes I wonder if they really are that stupid. Maybe there's some kind of agenda to let parents know that they can be nailed no matter how innocuous their kid's behavior, they can nail them if they want to. On the other hand, never use a conspiricy theory when the possibility of stupid exists.
I'm sure that the major problem here is that many of them were disappointed when they found out that they had snorted sugar.

Yes? So tell me, how do YOU tell the difference? What experience do you have with cocaine? Why would you think teachers and adminstrators would have sufficient experience to be able to tell one powery white substance from antoher?
Use your head for something besides a hatrack, okay?
Not to mention police.
They are too stupid. They're too stupid to do anything.
We are, and they are.
